The average age at our Independent Living is 80's. Our residents like to stay active in the various activities we have to offer. You might find them out having coffee and reading the paper together in the morning right before they attend either their morning exercise class or a devotional. Others like to get out at different times of the day and walk the walking path by the creek or sitting on the front porch. The afternoon you can experience anything from a crafting group, learning about a new country in our Sinceri Senior University, taking a ride on the bus for an outing, or enjoying live music.

What places are nearby for independent living residents to enjoy?

Not only do we have a beautiful walking path along the Creek, we are also located downtown which is close to the hospitals, grocery store, church, and other great resources.

What are some recent off-site events that the community activity director at Derian Lodge Senior Living has organized?

Accepted Answer

We have been taking afternoon fieldtrips to the rural towns to experience what they have to offer. We have also been to several new entities in town to take tours of their facilities and try out new eating places. We are always looking for new ideas and staying up to date in the community.

Residents can experience fine dining and home cooked meals. We ask for resident input in developing our weekly menu based on regular diets.

Accepted Answer

We are pet friendly to any pet under 35 pounds if they can be properly cared for and are up to date on their vaccinations. We are open to visiting animals and incorporate pet therapy into our programming.

We allow 3rd parties into our community such as home health, therapies, and other resource that can benefit our residents.

Accepted Answer

The building is secured after business hours and locked from the outside. All residents have a code for the front entrance and a key for all side entrances.

What common areas are available for independent living residents?

Accepted Answer

With in our community we have a dining area, a community activity room which includes a theater, small library and activity area. We also have our pub we utilize for social hour and happy hours. Our residents can stay active utilizing our exercise room and also an onsite hair salon and visiting beautician.

What transportation services does Derian Lodge Senior Living offer to independent living residents?

Accepted Answer

Transportation is included during regular business hours for medical and personal requests. We have a 12 person bus and a wheelchair accessible van.
