"This place was absolutely terrible. I would not recommend anyone sending their loved ones to this place. In person the staff is as nice and friendly as could be. Inversely many of the residents complained of being, hit, cursed at and neglected. Often times when I went to visit my grandmother she would be wet, and explained to us that she had been so for over three hours sometimes. I understand that caretakers cannot monitor everything, but very often we would buy her things, and would somehow take missing. Another disappointment was the smell of the facility. I understand that there are many elderly people there with various medical conditions which requires a large amount of medicine. However, as soon as you walked through the front door the smell just blew you away. I have been to other nursing homes where the smell is not near as pungent. I can compliment the aesthetics of the facility though. The facility is newer therefore it looks good from the outside. The rooms are clean on the inside as well. I guess the saying is true that you get what you pay for. My great-grandmother never had a tax-deductible income therefore her fixed income could only afford so much. Nice facility, but a terrible staff. When she lived there the ownership used the name Savannah River Nursing Care but has since changed the name to Tetra "

"I visited Lake Crossing Health Center. I liked the fact that it was family-oriented. There was nothing that I really didn't like. It was nice and clean, and the staff was professional and courteous. I haven't tried the food, but it looked good for a nursing home. They have a private sitting area aside from the sitting areas inside and outside. They have a cafeteria they could eat in, but you could also eat in your room if you can't make it to the cafeteria. It was actually nice."

"It was peaceful here and I love the fact that they offer resident AND family counseling. Their last dificiency report was back in July of 2008. Nothing major, just for them to make sure every client that comes in without a catheter is not given a catheter unless very very neccessary. No other complaints were given about this place. I was pleased with placing my client here. "

"My mother will be moving into Wesley Commons. This one was highly recommended, and I've been very pleased with them. They've been very nice, and it felt like a good match for my mother. The staff was very nice, they've worked with me a lot. What I heard about their vaccination status and when I met them, they were all very nice. I have not seen anything not to rate it a five. Everything I saw was very good, and everything I've seen is a five. I feel good about the place. The activities are not something that my mother did a lot of, being fairly blind and deaf. She doesn't care for that, and she's very happy not to do it. I'm sure they have a lot of activities. It was very similar as far as what they had available to where she has been, and we were very happy there. They were just on top of everything, and when I talked to them, they were very helpful in helping me find what she needed. In assisted living, they're vaccinated and boosted, which means a lot. My parents certainly have been and are. It's important that they're taking seriously their health, it's a very good start. The pricing is what we were used to paying before, and it seems comparable. I can't rate it, but I felt fine about it. They showed me the studio apartment and the 1-bedroom and that's what I'm interested in. When it's available, she will go to that. If she's in a studio at first, that will be fine until one becomes available. We walked around, they showed me around the assisted living and showed me what they had there. Everything was very nice. My main goal was in this short time of moving, burying my father, and trying to get my mother moved. I spent enough time, but not a huge amount of time there, and it was very good. It was a good tour. It's a big facility, they have a big parking lot. They have multiple housing units for different degrees of care. There was an outdoor place I can't remember. It's just a whirlwind of activities going on right now, but the facility is quite large and well-run."

"My former husband is in Bayberry Of Greenwood. It is a wonderful place, it truly is. I can't say enough about the staff. The manager is very involved with the residents. She's an extremely nice person. The whole place is just very, very nice. It's small, and it's very homey. The rooms are furnished. You may bring your own furniture, but they have furniture there. The only thing we brought was a recliner and an end table. The room is adequate. He's gained weight since he's there. I will be extremely sorry if he does have to leave there. But they are not equipped for someone who begins to wander. They will help with bathing. He is now beginning to get help with the bathing. It's more of a reminder that today is shower day, that sort of thing. They make sure that he gets his feet cleaned, which he had not been doing. He had been wearing a compression hose and they put them on him in the morning and they take them off at night. They've just been very good with him. They have bingo, which he enjoyed. They have an occasional trip out of town, which he also enjoyed. They've got a religious service once a week, although he has not been a religious person, he does go to it because it's something to do. And they have a television on in what they call their television room. They're excellent."

"I visited NHC HealthCare lots of times, and it is fantastic. They have a beautiful little dining area, they have a rehab area where they do their exercise, and like the others they have a place to beautify the ladies. The grounds are very well-taken care of. The care is very good, they take their job seriously, and they are people oriented. "

"I was very impressed. I really liked it, but unfortunately, I think my wife is gonna need skilled nursing, as opposed to just assisted living. I thought it was well laid out. I liked the rooms. The staff was professional. I saw a lot of the people that were there, and they all seemed to be happy to be there. I saw the lunchroom where they take their meals. They had a nice TV room that was well laid out. I liked the area; it's like almost in the woods."

"I toured here, and I liked it very much. It was very clean, and I liked the personnel that we met. We didn't go into details, but they play a lot of games and things to simulate the brain. They also do crafts and things like that. They have a beautiful courtyard, where the residents plant the flowers and take care of them. The courtyard is really pretty."

"We're using SarahCare of Evans to Locks adult daycare program, approximately 7 to 8 hours 2 to 3 times a week. It's a very closeby facility. I chose it because I knew I needed something to provide some respite care for my wife. We had visited there approximately three years ago, and at that time, my wife didn't need it, but a year ago this month I decided to talk to them again about her coming to their facility. I was very impressed not only with the physical facility and their programs, but certainly the staff that are delivering those programs. It appears to be a very well-run organization, and my wife seemed to like it. They've got arts and crafts, games, and singing. They don't take the participants out on trips, but they get them outside around the immediate yard. My wife enjoys going outside, so they will pick her to go with the staff member to go check the mail, for instance. The care is individualized, but they do have a very well-set up program. Meals and refreshments are also included. The initial cost of care started out at $65 per visit regardless of the amount of time for that visit, and they do require eight visits per month. Because of her increased need for care, the price now in her situation has gone up to $70 per visit. That's only during the weekdays; they do not provide services during the weekends or holidays. "

"We placed my mother in Tapley's Personal Care Home. Overall, this facility is fine. This place is a converted residential home; however, it's very clean. It's also located right in Evans and it's very close to grocery store and shopping area. The staff is very good and very polite. They do a very good job. They take extremely good care of my mother. Mom is in a nice semi-private room. She has her own closet and her own TV. Food is excellent. They're homecooked meals and they're very healthy food. In terms of activities, everyday they're doing some type of playing games. They keep their clients active. They also do field trips. "

"For the most part, the staff at Westwoods are caring individuals and seemingly have sincere concern for the residents. However, their staffing levels consistently seem to be only at the minimum required level or even below because of turnover.This creates a situation where staff members are stretched causing meals to be late, residents are left in bed for days and there is a consistent stench in the air of human waste. This is a management problem."

"My family have just placed my father in the Memory Care facility at Clairborne West. We are so impressed with the amount of care and attention he's received in a week, and whenever we call or email with a question, we get a clear response. We feel hopeful that this level care will continue and feel grateful that we have found such a positive and caring environment!"

"My mom is in Tignall Assisted Living. It goes all the way to memory care. We chose this because it's a little closer to all the family members and is a smaller community. There are about 12 residents, so it's more compact. It's easier and less walking for them and less doing anything. When they get out of bed, they go to the dining area to eat. Everything is compact; it's really nice. They help with your bath and they help you with dressing if you need it. They have meals and all the activities for them. She likes her accommodations. She loves it and has a great time. The facility is good. It's a big older house, but it's all fixed up nice inside and clean. The staff members and owners are nice. She works there 24/7 too and lives close by. I haven't tried the food, but I have seen it. It looks good. All of them have roommates. It's a nice place for a cheaper price."
