My father was a resident in this facility for Rehab to gain his strength to get back home to independent living with my mom. Stayed for 3 weeks and was discharged home; they stated he met his goals (walking 75 feet with a walker). Within 15 hours of getting home he was sent to the hospital via ambulance by the RN from VNA. Blood pressure was critically low and he was in "fluid overload" from his CHF. He couldn't stand up on his own and not even walk 5 feet. He was in better condition when he arrived at Manor Care Dtown than when he left. They kept giving him high sodium foods even though he was on a strict low sodium diet. PT would spend 30-45 mins a day working with him. The room was never cleaned. Very understaffed as well.

My dad was in Manor Care for three weeks, and he was in a nice room. The problem he had was they didn’t have a reclining chair. They didn’t even have a wheelchair which was working, and he can’t elevate his feet. The attendants during the week were fine, but they have limited staff over the weekend. The food was terrible. They did not take the time to discover his personal or dietary needs. They were understaffed, but a lot of the people were very nice.

My sister is at ManorCare Health Services-Dallastown, and the nurses were absolutely excellent. They are very caring and very giving. What I don’t like about the place is that they have three people in a room which to me is not conducive to a soothing environment. The room is small, and there is no chair. They have three televisions sets going at the same time. It's also an old place; the carpeting is worn, and the furniture is also worn.

This nursing home is a wonderful place the staff is wonderful with the patients and take the time to make each patient feel like they are special. When my father first went to this nursing home he of course did not want to be there, he cried that he wanted to be at his own home, now nearly 2 years later he calls ManorCare home, he enjoys going out but now feels like he is going home when it is time for us to take him back. The nurses and assistants always seem to have a smile and a kind word and the place is always clean and odor free. Whenever there is a problem with his billing the staff always go out of their way to straighten it out with out making him aware of the problem. All in all this is a great place for anyone to put their loved one without having to worry about neglect or abuse.
