The nursing home area is clean. Internet and cable TV are included. They are frequently understaffed and while most of the staff are caring and want to do a good job call buttons often don't get answered in a timely manner due to the understaffing. The temp staff hired to help cover the staffing gaps often don't care and many don't appear to make much of an effort to read about the needs of the resident beyond minimal requirements. Mom was first was in independent living (not evaluating that here as that may have changed since she lived there) then assisted living and then their nursing home unit. The regular staff are good, the "rent a staff" they use from an agency not so much so. They are chronically understaffed (I gather that is a national problem). When my mother was actively dying (which they knew that day she was) they didn't answer the call button nor the area desk phone for over 45 minutes. They only checked in twice with us in a 4-5 hour period, As they walked past the room they could have done a quick check. They didn't. We, the family, had to decide she had actually died and then go looking for someone (we didn't want to leave while she was dying in case she died while one of us were not there). Hopefully that was an anomaly. After she died what went on was appropriate. Two of the staff had come to see her the evening before she died (she died the next day) knowing she didn't have much time left. One, who wasn't assigned to her the day she died - and actually she worked the 3pm shift, my parent died shortly before that shift - , actually volunteered to clean up her body and dress her in what we wanted her dressed in. We appreciated that as we knew she cared about her. Sometimes clothing, even with their name on it (they provide iron on name tags if you want them - you need them), goes missing (or you get someone else's) after they do the laundry. When you say something sometimes the items are found and sometimes not. Other items can sometimes go missing as well. Food ranges from reasonably good to not very good (dried out, tough...). Many things are too salty, high cholesterol, pretty spicy, etc.. While they offer special diets for people with diet needs, the menu (both the regular menu and the diet needs ones) has little variety. If food is cold they can heat it up if asked. Special requests can be made (for example in season fruit daily with a meal). Physical therapy, some social activities happen in the building. There is a bus that can take them to the pool and gym (but in the nursing home and assisted living facility that is not likely going to be used by them since they need help and that won't be provided on the bus or once they get there unless they are having physical therapy in, for example, the pool). There are also outside activities (like off campus things - symphony, tours, theater, etc., but again, those are more likely to be used in the independent living areas of the complex. That all levels of care (or lack there of) is offered in one place is helpful. The complex is large with many buildings, half houses, luxury apartments, more basic apartments, etc. paths, a pond... They do have some senior hud apartments that residents who run out of money can be put on the waiting list for (and they have priority over outsiders). Those apartments are scattered in the independent living apartments so no one will know they live in subsidized apartments. Those living in senior hud are still required to buy the evening meals which may stress their budget. There is a senior hud just around the corner that doesn't have the meal requirements if your family member needs senior hud but can't afford the meals (all senior hud has waiting lists though - often more than a year). The visiting hours for families are pretty much all day every day which is helpful. Family, if they notify the kitchen in advance (and there is a cost), can eat meals with their family member (or buy a microwave dinner at the grocery store near by, heat it up in the microwave and eat it with your family member). In the nursing home area staff do feed some of the residents and some have family members come to help them eat. In independent living out of town family members can spend the night with their family member in their apartment. If your family member is in assisted living, the nursing home, memory care... that is not possible. Generally speaking the entire complex is family visiting friendly and does have areas where families can visit that are outside of their room if they so desire. Overall I'd say their facilities are reasonably good and well kept up. The days they are fully staffed care is good (if not or if they have contract temps it is far less so). Everything is kept clean, food could use some improvement, there are far more limited activities for those in assisted living and the nursing home than in the rest of the complex. I noticed what activities they did offer presumed cognitive impairment which my parent did not really have until the last months of life. What is offered in independent living is far better, although sometimes expensive (she lived there prior to moving to assisted living). The grounds are well kept up, many gardens, paths, geese and ducks in the pond, benches to sit on on the paths, etc. Overall I'd say that it is likely this is one of the better places to have a family member live, although there are some short comings that you will need to serve as a back up for/be aware of.

We got respite care through Ohio Living Breckenridge Village. Dad wasn't singing he wants to go home when I arrived to pick him up, which was impressive. His hospice nurses and aide were able to check on him while he was staying there. It actually helped provide familiarity to him. Overall, the place was clean, professional, and treated my dad with respect. He was there for six days, five nights. His room could be shared, but it was private. It has the hookups to be shared if needed. It's more like in a nursing home facility with the bed, tray, two chairs, the TV, and then the bathroom was connected to the room. They have a courtyard and a gathering room where somebody was playing music for karaoke. They also had some very fun activities for the people. They exceeded and they met all requirements. They said he ate well. It was paid by Medicare. The palliative care and the hospice care teams come to the house and provide home services for my dad on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and they also change out his foley and things like that.

My sister was at Ohio Living Breckenridge Village. It was very good. Everyone knew what they were doing. It was very well-kept, very neat, and very orderly. The grounds were very beautiful. Everything was in its place. The staff was very knowledgeable and very eager to help. My sister was in rehab, so she was doing therapy in walking and doing steps, just getting her back to where she could be more mobile. The food was in the middle of the road; it was more like hospital food.

I had an in-person tour of Ohio Living Breckenridge Village. Overall, I liked the facility very much. It had a lot of appropriate amenities and activities. The apartment was not ideal and not suited for me personally, but it was very nice and clean. The kitchen was great and had so much storage space. The closets were nice and deep; they had a lot of storage space. It had a refrigerator and a stove. They have different styles and price points. They have ranch homes, townhouses, market-priced apartments, and government-subsidized apartments. The lady was half an hour late to begin the tour, so I was sitting there waiting. They have a pool, physical and occupational therapy, and a club room with a pool table. They have a lot of activities, and the people there are wonderful.

I visited Ohio Living Breckenridge Village and it smelled of urine. I also saw people sitting around half clothed. I met some of the staff, and they didn't seem like they cared. They were sitting down playing with their phones. The rooms were cluttered, too. The food looked awesome though, and the dining area was nice.

We visited the Ohio Living Breckenridge Village, and that's the only one we're interested in for now, because it's very close to our daughter. The tour went very well. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and very informative. They have quite a selection of floor plans. They had condos, ranch homes, apartments, and townhouses. It all depends on what you're interested in, but we only saw a ranch home, and it was fine. The facility was very clean. They have a pool, some PT, exercise area, and some other things. It's not pretty big, but what we saw was fine, and you get dining facilities.

My father was in Ohio Living Breckenridge for a while. Their services were OK, but it was too costly. There wa nsot enough staff, but the facilities were nice looking. He was there for assisted living and partly for rehab too.

My relative lives in the north building. The apartments are decent. Most of the staff are fine. The food used to be good, a reasonable diet and now is horrible. Most items are high salt, high cholesterol, most choices are one or both. Some nights they serve only highly spiced food. Often the food is cold. There is no nutritionist looking over the menu or how it is prepared. There is a very limited menu (hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwich, salad...) that they serve every night then they have 3 choices that vary (one fish, the other two non-fish). Their excuse for the unhealthy diet is that this is not assisted living. Umm and what has that to do with serving high salt diets (with limited options for low salt) to a population that often has high blood pressure and so needs to limit salt? Or high cholesterol diets to a population that often struggles with that? Not to mention that is not a diet that is healthy for anyone. If they want to serve food that is not good for you then they need to limit it to one choice a day. Many eat sandwiches for dinner, not because they want to but because the other choices are bad. Most buildings require buying the meal plan.

Understaffed and unprofessional. CNA's touching a hamburger pattie to see if it was warm before serving it. Rehab unit understaffed and filthy

We toured Breckenridge, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were gorgeous, clean, and in a beautiful wooded setting. It was conveniently located, and the grounds were fabulous. The dining area was very clean, and the menu was good. I would absolutely recommend it.

When we inquired about one of their homes we were told you have to pay for the home like any other house in full. The catch: when your loved one passes on they take the home back and resell it and nothing goes back to family who bought it. So effectively your loved one could buy a home for 250k, pass on in 6 months, and be out the entire 250k. I find this morally reprensible. They appear to be taking advantage of old people and hiding behind their church affiliation. It is possible I misunderstood the process but I asked twice because I could not believe my ears. Buyer beware!

Nason Center of Breckenridge Village is a nice facility, but they have a big fence because on the other side is a street. It is huge. It would remind you of a college campus in that you need a bus to get around to all of the different areas. They have apartments, a beautiful pool, a chapel, and brownstones, which are glorified apartments and buildings. Once you go into the individual brownstone, you think you're in a home. Fairmont is their long-term nursing center where my brother-in-law lived until he died. The building is beautiful, but there isn't any grass. They have parking lots. The building goes from one street to the other. Going from Ridge Road down to Route 20, it's almost three-fourths of a mile of campus. If they want to go the activity room, they would have to take an in-house bus that runs all of the time. The brownstone people go to a different dining room; there are three or four dining rooms on campus.

My mother was at Fairmount Health. It was very good. The facility was very clean. They had extremely attentive personnel. They wanted to make it just wonderful. It just wasn't going to work for us, and it was better to have my mother close to us. My mother needed somebody from our family every day, and it was too hard to get there.

I know some people who live at Breckenridge Village and they all love it. It is attractive. They have additional services you need when you need them. It is a top of the line place.

Brecken Ridge is an all-inclusive facility from independent living through hospice care. We liked everything that we saw about it. It suited my parent's needs. The rooms were large and spacious and the people were very nice and caring.

I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of this particular assisted care facility. The staff was impeccably professional and helped my father through a difficult time. They treated him with dignity and respect, and were always there when he needed assistance. The facilities were beautiful, comfortable, and well-designed. My father was even impressed by the food that was served. Since my father is severely handicapped, it was important to us to find an assisted care facility that could truly take full care of him and not leave him by himself for very long. The staff did not disappoint us. They were always available for my father when he needed assistance with anything (even if he did something small, like drop a book and not be able to pick it up). The staff always completed such tasks with a smile and never made him feel as if he was a burden. One staff member in particular sticks out (I will not mention her name). This particular person was always very helpful and attentive. She made sure that not only my father was taken care of, but myself as well if I was visiting him. If I ever need to make the decision to put someone in an assisted care facility again, I will surely choose Breckenridge.

Breckenridge Continuing Care Community is a beautiful facility with very well kept grounds. The staff is professional and accommodating. While the price of the assisted living is quite steep, the service provided by Breckenridge is like none other. It is comparable in price to other assisted living facilities in the area, many of which do not have the positive reputation that Breckenridge has. The grounds appear to be park-like even though it is nestled in a suburban city. The food was very good though it cannot compare to home cooking. A wide variety of stores are easily accessible from the campus. Breckenridge Village, owned by Ohio Presbyterian Retirement Services, also owns a home health care company called Senior Independence, for those individuals who are in need of physical therapy after a rehab stay, which is well known in the area for providing superior service as well. Breckenridge Village also has the benefit of being a Continuing Care Retirement Community which offers a range of services depending on the individuals needs. As the individual ages, they have the ability to "age in place" from Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Nursing care. All in all, it was a pleasant visit and I would definitely recommend Breckenridge Village to my clients. Their long wait list is proof of their desirability in this area!
