They really didn’t want to move in Fremont and the Bethany Place where we first visited in March; they had a three to six months waiting list, and so we put them on both waiting list for assisted and independent living. We thought that we are going to go with assisted living. We compared both prices between assisted and independent living. They are still on the waiting list for a 2-bedroom. They had friends living there too, and that’s where they wanted to go. The facility has bingo. They are Catholic, so every Monday they have a community service, and Thursday they have rosary. They have movies and cards. The food is very good; if they don’t like what they are having, they have an alternate. They made completely everything from scratch. There are no preservatives, they have an ice cream anytime they want, and they have a soup anytime they want.

My dad is currently in an Independent Living facility right now. He's been to Bethany Place for 3 years now. My dad seems to be doing pretty good in the place. When we were looking back in March-April he was not doing good at all. But since then, he's been with the doctor and we got him physical therapy and he's doing a whole lot better so we have not moved him to a nursing home yet. We chose The Bethany Place for him because it's just right down the street from where he used to live. With regards to the treatment of the staff for him everything is just fine and he's doing very well. They were all very caring. If there was one thing that needs to improve for Bethany that would be the quality of life in the place because they have a lot of activities for them to do. But my dad is very much happy with the place. It's much better than living alone. He has a lot of friends in the place. It's a beautiful independent living facility to live in.
