"My mom will be moving into The Landings of Albemarle. It was built and was supposed to open, but COVID happened. So, it just opened 2 years ago, and the facility was beautiful. I had an aunt that was a millionaire and her facility was extremely expensive, but this one is right there with it. The dining facility was strictly for dining, unlike in other places where the dining room was a group activity facility. Each room had a shower that was no step completely, just a walk-in. In each hallway, there was a huge bathroom that had a huge shower and a huge walk-in tub. So, if a resident either wants the staff to bathe them or they want to have a bath, they have that option. They had an outdoor courtyard in the back that had lighting so that in the evenings they could sit out there and enjoy the fresh air. They had a physical fitness room, and I know that they offered physical fitness classes. If there was an emergency, they had the medical staff for assisted living. It was just a refreshing place. It looked like a place that I'd like to stay in and have someone feed me and the doctor comes and sees me. This young lady had a grandfather who was a resident, and that's the room that she showed me. She was knowledgeable because she asked if my mother was military and I said no, but I am. And so she told me, for the future, what's available for me if I ever choose to select them. Everywhere I looked was clean. It looked like a living room, a family room lodge with a big fireplace, couches, chairs, and lamps. It was very welcoming. It wasn't sterile."

"My mom moved into the Edenton House. We are all 100% happy, and she is 100% happy with the way things are going there, and would you say ecstatic. Everyone that we've come in contact with the Edenton House has been very, very helpful, and very, very loving toward our mom. My mom seems to enjoy the food. Cleanliness is on the top of the list for us, it does not have a smell of anything but cleanliness, and everytime I go in there, they're cleaning. You see them cleaning everywhere, the floors, walls, bathrooms, constantly, I think they're all over the top of it, it's a good job. I know she has enjoyed being with crafts, she's always liked that kind of stuff."

"My husband has moved into Anchor of Hope Senior Living of Suffolk LLC. We chose it because it was very personalized with a small number of patients to the number of nurses. There's no risk that they'll say, "The Medicare is finished, so he has to leave now." He could stay there the rest of his life if he had to. It's very homey. It's in a regular house, so it has nice sunny windows and it's carpeted. It's very nice and very peaceful. It's just super pristine. Everything is perfectly clean like nobody's even been in there. It's well-kept. They have a physical therapy company that comes in. He's getting over a stroke, so he's there mostly for physical therapy. The food looks good and he likes it. He has a big screen TV which he likes. They have a washer and dryer and they do the laundry for the residents. They can eat in their room, but there's a common eating area, too, and they can eat together if they like. They have a stairlift but he's so feeble that he can't even walk. He can only use one hand, so he's pretty limited in what he can do right now. They help him with bathing and dressing, and they administer his medicines."

"After having shoulder surgery. I decided to go to Nansemond Pointe for PT & OT. Both PT & OT were excellent. They were all cheerful and compassionate. Anytime I rang for help, someone would always pop their head in to see what I needed and find the right person to help me. The food was very good and Dietary visited me to see if there was anything I needed or wanted to change on my diet. The nurses and nurse caregivers were pleasant and willing to help me whenever I needed help. I liked the fact that the doctors visited often. Housekeeping staff and Maintenance staff were excellent. Everyone that participated in my plan of care kept up with my progress in PT & OT, Team Work Makes All of the Difference~ Thank-you All. "

"We chose Autumn Care of Suffolk for my brother. I went there to check it out prior to his being transferred there. His name is Taye, and he's like the admission person. I called him. I told him what was going on with my brother. He's like, "I've got a bed available, I'll see what I can do as far as getting him over here. I need this kind of information so that I can work to make sure that we are skilled to take care of him." So right there it was impressive to me. They're just not going to take anybody. They want to make sure with his health condition that they have the correct medical staff on hand to tend to him. And then while I was there, he was giving me a tour. He showed me the bed that was available. I met the roommate. As we were going down the hallway, I met different staff members, he was introducing them to me. They were putting up Christmas trees. One of the ladies was talking about how she would sit down and help write letters and send Christmas cards to some of the residents. You could see where it had the dining area, where people would come in and eat meals. And then they had a set up where you could come in if you wanted to have a private birthday party or something like that. They had different areas to do different activities. There was an area for you to sit there for the visitors lounge and things like that. They showed us the menus, the food, and I talked to the financial woman, how she handled it. He gave me a thorough tour and made me feel really comfortable. He even showed me a huge rack that was in the middle floor of one of the hallways that the nurse's aide will get, all the sheets and the towels and all that. This was 4:00 in the afternoon. He said, "All this stuff, right here, even though it's not being used, we still take and strip this, and wash every bit of it and put it back. Because it is set there, it then becomes unsanitized." I was more than impressed with that. That's a little overkill. They're really adamant about being courteous to the other roommate, giving them respect. He knew every patient. If he walked into the rooms, he spoke to each one of those residents, he knew their names, he knew where their family was from, he knew how often they visit them. He knew everything about all of his residents, the resident family, and everything. That is a well run organization. He is on top of everything. Very impressive. It was clean, everybody was clean, everybody was happy. They tried to make their stay there just as at home as possible. And they even said that if my brother wanted to bring his TV he could, if he wanted to bring his own dresser or whatever, he could. It's in a good location. The staff was very friendly."

"Very clean. Staff in Memory Care are fabulous. So kind and caring. My husband dosnt complain about the food. But he says it's not as good as mine! I wish they had more activites for the Memory care residents. The activites people go out of their way to come her my hubby to do some things. Room is lovely. Maintence staff is very helpful. "

"My mom was here at this facility for rehab - she had a knee replacement. The facility is great! Very loving staff and the therapists were excellent. My Mom, who can be stubborn sometimes, was up everyday and truly enjoyed the "workouts" they gave her. She is back home with me now and I am very appreciative. "

"The physical therapy I received at this facility was a blessing to me! My rehabilitation was to recover from a broken femur. I regained strength and independence during my stay at Brian Center. The large room allowed me maneuver easily in my wheelchair. The sidewalks and beautiful setting allowed me to be outside and enjoy the beautiful setting. I am thankful for my temporary stay at Brian Center."
