My mom is dead

1

December 2, 2022

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom was moved from the regular hospital to this facility. They kept a catheter in her the whole time. They did not check her blood to make sure her uti was gone. The oral Antibiotics didn’t work. We thought they would have checked her blood. She died from sepsis. The last night as I was leaving she got scared and said, “ oh crap, I’m scared” ( because the nurses were mean when she asked them to move her) The day she was to be released, we had her funeral instead. My dad has been feeding her and she had a catheter so they did not have very much to care for her. . He asked the nurses to help him move her and it took 2 1/2 hours. My dad had to finally go get them. They were very angry at my 88 year old dad for bothering them. (They were eating behind the counter.)I would never ever recommend this facility to anyone. Her PT was amazing.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. The food was terrible, my relative would ring to be brought to the bathroom since unable to go without assistance but nobody came. I understand they were busy and short on help but the wait was unreasonably long. Some of the nurses were unkind and the people at the head nurses desk were frequently standing around talking and laughing loudly. Trust me, you don't want your loved one in this depressing environment.

Very nice Rehab. Professional care. But they will keep you in the Rehab facility long er than nessary. I think they ate milking the Insurance company. My mom went in for 10 days after two weeks. they said she needed to stay another week. But they couldn't give me a good reason why.. SO WATCH OUT !!!

I am a friend or relative of a resident

My mother was at Rex Rehab for three weeks. They're very impressive. Personnel there was great with my mother. My mother speaks Spanish and she was happy that there were a few people there who spoke Spanish, so that made her feel more comfortable. Physical therapy worked with her and everything was great. The location was really nice, too. The staff were very helpful and attentive and communicated well. The facility was spacious, clean, well maintained, looked very new, and all the nurses and everyone who treated my mother seemed to be very genuine, understanding, and very friendly.

The care at Rex Rehab is great! My mother in law has been there approximately two years . They are kind and caring, always happy and helpful. Recently my father in law fell and broke his hip while visiting. They were very helpful in getting him help and now he is rehabing there too. We really have been pleased with the whole experience. We highly recommend Rex Rehab!

I visited this facility

I visited this facility a few times to see my grandmother and always found the place looking good. There is a nice courtyard in the back that is good for having conversations in the spring. The front is secured, visitors need a code to get in, so the patients are safe. There is a dining room, and a lobby out front for guests. My grandmother shared a room with someone else, however, they both seemed to have room for their stuff. When I visited, I always found many of the residents in good spirits and the nursing staff professional and hard-working. I enjoyed talking with some of the other residents and finding out about their lives. While my grandmother has had a couple of minor health problems during her stay, she has been very sharp and at times humorous. I would recommend this facility to other people that are looking for a facility.
