My mother lived at Highland Crest for the past two and a half years before she passed away. My family and I were living out-of-town so we relied heavily on the support, kindness and professionalism of the administrator and her staff. Whenever we had questions or requests they responded quickly and with attention to detail. My mother was treated with patience, kindness and respect. The residents, staff and administrator provided a loving, caring environment and community. I highly recommend Highland Crest!

We're very impressed with Highland Crest. The care that our friend is getting is wonderful. She enjoys the meals and living there. The director is a lovely, efficient lady and the nurse is very on top of everything and takes care of any issues that arise. The environment is lovely. The rooms are all lovely and very clean. The hallways are clear of clutter. The whole facility is very welcoming and has a beautifully decorated lobby. The residents eat at round tables with linen napkins. They have timely decorations for holdiays, like Valentine's Day, and now they have St. Patrick's Day decorations up. They do have activities like card games and on Valentine's Day, some of the residents got together and decorated cookies. They also have bible studies and daily physical exercises.

My grandmother has stayed at Highland Crest for the last four years and has seen a marked increase in her personal well being and happiness. Back in Kirksville, she lived a fair distance away from us and it was always difficult to travel to her and to help her receive proper care sometimes. Highland Crest was easy for her to adjust to and the staff is incredibly friendly and cordial, with the same kind of southern feeling that my grandma feels comfortable in. The food is much better than living at home and grandma isn't so isolated and can be around people and friends again. Her stay at the facility has led to a lot of good changes in her life and I think it was a wise and beneficial decision. Highland Crest has done nothing but help us adjust to this new lifestyle, both for us and for grandma.
