"Bedford Care Center was a good facility. The care was nice. My mom was cared for well there. It was a nice facility. The grounds were kept fine, and the people were very attentive. "

"My sister is in Covington Ridge Retirement. It's beautiful, and she enjoys it. It's a lovely place with all kinds of activities. I ate dinner with her once, and the food was really good. There are a lot of nice, friendly people there, and the staff is really friendly and nice. My sister has been there about two years now. She has an apartment with a spacious living room and a big bathroom that's well set up. It has a refrigerator, microwave, and stove. She also has a pretty big, nice bedroom with a queen-sized bed. They have a fenced-in sitting area, like a patio, outside the back door. I really like it, and it's comfortable. They do crafts, bingo, entertainment that comes in, and church services."

"We are in the process of moving my mom into The Claiborne at Hattiesburg. I've been there several times and I chose it for her because I liked the look and feel of the facility. Everything was clean, neat, and well taken care of. The staff was friendly, too. Everyone was friendly at all the other places, but I just felt a connection there. I feel at peace whenever I think about my mom staying there. I have not tried the food, but the other residents there have spoken highly of the food. One of the things that sold me is that everything was well-kept, neat, clean, orderly, quiet, and peaceful. It was open and airy; it wasn't claustrophobic. I don't know how else to describe it except that I felt peaceful there, and I think my mom would feel the same way."

"My mom moved from a large home to a two bedroom apartment last year at The Claiborne, so it was a big adjustment. The staff loved mom through the transition and has been so kind to her. We can call and talk to Julie, Janna and Cathy in the office any time about Mom and they know how she is doing and are quick to answer our questions courteously and professionally. Mom is very happy in her new environment with as much or little exposure to friends and activities as she desires. She is safe and cared about and welcome. We feel like she is on a continuous cruise ship that never leaves the dock!"

"We toured Hattiesburg Health & Rehab memory care. It was clean, but because it's a nursing home, it's just busy. The nurses had the medical carts going down the hall and there was too much going on. It will be too much stimulation for my mother and it's too congested. All the staff is very nice and very helpful. It's a very old building back in the '60s. They've got some new additions, but when you go in, you'd know it's old. But that does not hinder the care that these residents are getting. They have an activities coordinator and they do activities like they'll get them out. They also have a dining area. The halls were not as wide as the other places that we went. The rooms were all double rooms. The staff members were all friendly and attentive to the residents that were there."

"I like the Myrtles. My dad, my mother, and my uncle stayed in the Myrtles. They had therapy there. They were clean. My dad didn't have any teeth so they pureed his food. I had no problems except for the nurses. I had problems with the nurses because my father's medication was a factor with me. However, they did good as far as keeping him clean, feeding him, and everything like that. "

"Staff is uncaring. They leave residents laying in their own waste they gossip about other nurses and they don't do what the patient asks of them (refuses to get you up)a few good ones are there like (Kim and bird) but few and far between."

"My sister and my 103-year-old aunt are in The Grove. They have assisted living, and they have a nursing home. My sister is in the nursing home. I liked the people that I met. My sister is 85, but she had a good mind. The staff is taking good care of her. The aides come by there all the time to check her, and they are always asking what they can do for her. They are really good in asking her about going trips on a bus. My sister is a very strange eater. They have great food, she just don't like most of it because she was a dietician before. However, maybe they can improve on the menu, because she doesn't eat cheese, but they still send her something like that, and it is aggravating. It is clean and doesn't have a smell. The people are friendly. They do a lot of activities. They have a good therapy program. "

"I've been to the Jones Co Rest Home and I liked it a lot. So far, I'd probably use this place. It's clean and nice, and there's plenty of staff so it's great. There were no people just laying up in the bed in the rooms, everybody was out participating and dressed nicely, and their hair brushed. Their rooms were all double rooms, which I liked because my mother needs someone with her. I'm glad there will be at least another person in the room with her in case she can't reach a string or pull the cord. There's one nurse station at each end of the building, and the nurse's station can see down the complete halls. So the halls are being watched all the time. The staff we interacted with were all nice and helpful. I heard them speaking to all of the residents by name when they passed anyone in the hall. They had a friendly relationship with the residents. They posted menus and they looked good. We saw the residents having an afternoon ice cream sundae party where they could go and pick their ice cream sundae, and they were enjoying that."

"My cousin's husband, Donald, is in Laurelwood Comm Living Center, and from what I understand, it is a really exceptional facility. They have a nursing home and rehab. Donald is in the rehab unit, and I think it's fine. Given the lockdown, I can't get in to see it, so I don't know anything about it, but I'm familiar with some people who have been there and the work they are doing. The staff was accommodating on the phone when I spoke to them, so communication is fine. From Monday through Friday, when the kitchen is open, I think the food is pretty good, but on weekends, when they give sandwiches, I don't think it's so great. Medicare is paying. It is an older building, but it is kept up. They have adequate parking, and I know there is a salon where they can get a haircut."
