My mom was moved here to get rehab so she could get stronger and hopefully return home. She takes a seizure med 200mil. They said they only had 100mil dosage and needed to get Dr. approval to give her 2 pills to equal the 200mil. The Dr. never responded and they never pushed for an answer for 36 hours! Instead of contacting the Dr again because she needs that medication, they just DIDNT GIVE IT TO HER!! For almost two days she did not receive that important medicine, which caused her to have a seizure for the first time in weeks! I walked in to find her seizing IN THE HALLWAY on a chair!! When I aske the nurse when the last time she had her medicine, because she hadn't had a seizure in so long, the nurse just said "I don't know" So I asked when she was next scheduled to have it and she said "I DONT KNOW" with an attitude!! and then she told me she cant give her medicine when "She's doing this" (Having a seizure!!) I didn't ask her to give her medicine I just asked when she had it last! Well after 20 minutes of my poor mom seizing IN THE HALLWAY, they finally decided to call 911. When I tell you this nurse walked as slow as she could to the nurses desk!! No sense of urgency AT ALL. You can tell she has no sort of compassion for the patients, because why wouldn't she walk faster to the phone? Why did she not know when a patient under her care was supposed to receive her meds? Her name is Amanda. Amanda also wouldn't tell the Doctors at the hospital that my mom was admitted to that day when or if she ever gave her any meds that day!. The doctors at the hospital didn't want to double dose her, so they asked my sister to call up there to see what she had been given, and Amanda refused to say!! She was just giving attitude and said she wasn't at the computer to look it up! My sister asked for a supervisor and the supervisor also gave her attitude! Until my sister told her that she didn't understand why they were being so rude to her when she just needed to know because it could harm my mom if she received a double does of some of her meds! Turns out she didn't get ANY meds that day at all and that's when we found out that they just didn't give her ANY seizure meds the two days that she had been there!! They also have 14 patients to JUST 1 NURSE!! That's just unsafe! PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR LOVED ONE COME HERE!

I moved into Hickory Ridge of Temperance. It's very nice. They have patios outside. They keep the grass, and the parking lot is in good shape. The staff is wonderful, not enough of them, but it's wonderful. They play bingo three times a week. They have crafting classes, they have musical people come in and sing and play instruments, and they have parties quite often. The food is sufficient. It's a little bit repetitive. There are a lot of pasta dishes, which I don't care for, but a lot of Italian pasta dishes.

I was at Hickory Ridge of Temperance for physical therapy. The staff was very caring. The place was clean. The food was pretty good. If you don't like something, you could ask for an alternative food choice. They did the laundry, too. They were very cordial. I like the food there. The facility itself was neat. Their activities were typical crafty things and bingo.

The rooms are very nice. Interactions with the staff was okay. My aides were very friendly and helpful. The nurses were nice. Unfortunately I would NOT recommend this facility to others because of the short staff problems that have been ongoing for a very long time. One evening I was told by an aide that there were ONLY 2 aides for about 50 residents. Wait time for assistance to take a shower or use the bathroom was ridiculous. Hickory Ridge should be ashamed of residents having to wait for at least 1 hour before they can get help using the bathroom.

Hickory Ridge was a very nice facility. I was impressed. The staff was very good and attentive. They had everything that you would need and group and individual activities. My husband was in a nice, spacious double room.
