The Flower House

Flower House didn't have a bed available, and they were farther away from my house, but the place was very nice. It was the most homey place I've been to. They're very personable and just the nicest people. They knew every one of their residents and introduced me to any awake resident. It's not a big place. I think they have 15 people there. They have some single rooms and some double rooms. It did not feel like a facility itself. It felt like being in somebody's big house with a big open floor plan, with a kitchen, a living room, and a dining room. People were doing the puzzle by the window. Another person was sitting at a desk doing something. There were people sitting in recliners watching TV. They have stuff that they do, but I don't think you're required to do anything. Still, they'll encourage you to come out and do stuff. They're very loving people. They have good-sized rooms. There were people in wheelchairs there and they could easily get down the hallways. Everything was handicapped accessible for the bathrooms.

The Flower House was nice. The rooms were a nice size. The person who runs it was very helpful and very compassionate. The staff are very personable. They do a good job, I like them. I have a friend that we located there recently and they're very good. They actively get medical staff in. It's attractive on the outside. It's always clean and they make it comfortable. Everybody has their own lift chair in the living room and that's pretty amazing. The dining area was very easy to get to, and for friendships to develop, so you get to know all the residents. That was cool.

My mother is in The Flower House, which is a small facility where they house 14 people and they take care of all their needs. The staff is very good, and her room is a single studio room. They do activities, they do light coloring, they play cornhole, bingo, and different things and games like that. They have a beauty salon, a lady comes in and cuts hair, and they have a common living area where they can go. It was very nice, and they were very nice and friendly. It's a small-town type atmosphere, and they do well with the food. It's also fairly new and they do everything that they can every day. The value for the money is very fair after checking around.
