My mother has been a resident of Green Acres of Ionia for a couple of months now. Overall, everything is excellent. She is getting excellent care. The staff are friendly and helpful. The home was clean and attractive. We haven't found anything wrong with it yet. They have a doctor that comes in as often as necessary, or as little as possible. We even had a nice visit with him yesterday. Mom's room is not really large, but it has everything. She has a microwave, a refrigerator, a separate bedroom, and a bathroom. It is like a small apartment, and the upkeep has been excellent as well. She has been enjoying the food. They have more than one choice for every meal. If they don't particularly want the main one they're serving, they can order something else. The dining room was pleasant. There were quite a few people in there to interact with. They have an exercise class where people can do whatever level they want. They are not forced to do anything they can't do. They do crafts every day. They just went on a tour last week, and they are having a family potluck this coming week. There is a lot going on there. Their staff is pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable, and everything you want in an assisted living place. She has a call button in three spots in her room. They are there within a reasonable amount of time to take care of her needs. When it comes to food, not everything is 100% as good as it could be, but it's still very good. It's a clean, modern, and attractive facility. The price is within reach. All of them are high, but they are in line with everybody else.

Green Acres of Ionia was beautiful. It was really nice and it looked homey. The people were pleasant, and they would have been able to provide assisted care for my dad, and then dementia care for my stepmom, so they have separate areas for that. The lady who toured us was very informative and told us everything. The dining room was also homey, comfortable, and convenient. They have a beauty salon, an activity room, and they would have been able to go from room to room to see each other, so that would have been convenient too.

Money is the game here. Facility is poorly constructed cold in winter. Maintenance is worse. NO generator back up power for an " at risk " population is unbelievable......especially for what the cost of rent is.Did not find this out till recent power outage...... Administration booted the residents out instructing them to find somewhere else to stay..... AND locked the doors!!!!! After a recent illness of resident, we were assured someone would be available 24/7 for assistance and they would be checked on every couple of hours. This is a lie . In 4 days time resident was ask if they needed anything 3 times!!!! Rent is VERY. High for what residents get. Activities that are. In the literature aren't consistent. Food is not well prepared, under or overcooked. lOTS of cheap pasta, gravy and little tough meat. Wish family could be elsewhere but is trapped by financial commitment . Administration is really a fast talker. Place and it's care has really gone down hill with her arrival. With all her corner cutting I'm sure the books look great to the owner. We all need to remember we will be old one day. How would You like to be treated and cared for ? What goes around comes around. Our elders. Deserve better. We DO NOT recommend Green Acres living.

The place is beautiful.. for that it gets one star. It is a front. The administrator of this place is terrible. She puts on a good front until you sign on the dotted line, but God forbid you ask a question about the care your loved one is receiving. And don't get to attached to any of the help because there is a HUGE turnover due to the fact that they are all treated like crap by their administrator.
Truth really does hurt.

Very disappointed with care. Fluid passing is very rare, unless residents ask, how many dementia patients remember to ask! Actvities are on the calendars, but all the same week after week, yeah lets do another puzzle. Facility looks clean but don't move a dresser, or if somethng gets broke just fix it youself because it will be a while. The food is nasty tasting, and is not enough to fill up a baby let alone a grown man. The grounds are beautiful for show and tell, to bad the residents don't get outside to see them. They have a nice patio for the memory care unit that got used once, other than that the staff does not have the time to take them outside to sit. Just so disappointing! Big fail administration.

On entering the area, one could tell they took pride in keeping up the landscape, and interior of the grounds. As I explored a little deeper and made contact with my friend there I was told it wasn't the best but he felt stuck sometimes. They weren't the most professional or accommodating for how much they were charging. As far as charges they also like to bill everything separately. I'm informed they don't typically use trained staff to do certain things, such as dispense prescription medications to various patients. The food wasn't the best. The employees don't tend to be very effective with there time and don't always get things done well or in a timely manner.

This facility has housing units for residents able to live on their own which are set up like condominiums, units for couples in need of minimal care and units for residents who need more nursing care. Upon entering the main facility there is a nicely decorated Dining/Activities area with a big screen TV where the residents can do a variety of things such as play Bingo, watch the movie of the week or just sit and visit with family and friends. The hallway is a park-like setting with greenery and benches every few feet. They even have lampposts to give the park-like look and feel. Staff can be found in either the office area or in the resident rooms at all times that I have visited. The resident rooms are amply spaced for either one person or a couple and include a kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator, sink and cupboards. The resident bathrooms are large handicapped size. The couple's bedrooms are large enough for a king size bed and single bedrooms are large enough for a double bed. The units can be decorated any way that is wished by the resident including bringing furniture from a previous home. This is a very nice place to visit!

My experience with Green Acres assisted living facility started when my grandmother and grandfather moved in following the sale of the home they had lived in for much of their lives. The facility had a few different areas devoted to residents with different needs. On one end, the facility catered to residents requiring full time assistance, looking for like a hospital. There were individual apartments for residents who could live on their own. Other area of the complex looked more like an apartment building with individual rooms for the residents. All rooms were equipped with assist buttons that would call for help. Trained nurses are on call 24 hours a day and regularly check in with residents to help with their needs. A kitchen and cook staff prepares breakfast, lunch, and dinner for residents. Meals are cooked to keep residents healthy and keep their nutritional intake up. Entertainment is also provided throughout the week with activities ranging from bingo to live music. A taxi is available to take residents to local merchants. It is located close to many grocers, drug stores, home improvement, and big box retailers. The facility is newly built and has a warm and welcoming feeling. Residents also have access to an entertainment room with a big screen television, books, magazines, puzzles, and plenty of comfortable room to sit. Overall, Green Acres has a warm community feeling with happy residents and a friendly staff.
