I have decided to keep my husband at Autumnwood of Deckerville. I would recommend this facility, which has a locked-down facility for Alzheimer's/dementia residents. It has an excellent round-the-clock staff. They provide excellent meals, and there's excellent care from everyone. The cook called me for a list of my husband's favorites, and he's doing that. I really can't say enough good things about every one of them that I've encountered. The social worker is awesome. Everyone on the staff is excellent. They have a person come in that does music. They have games, and they have projects for the residents.

My mother is in Autumnwood of Deckerville and the care is pretty good. They give updates and they have a monthly meeting for each client there, so everyone can get caught up on their own families and what's going on. They do whatever her insurance will pay for, including the therapy. Her room was fine before when she had a roommate, but I believe they moved her and she doesn't have a roommate now. The place is locked, you have to get somebody to let you in and let you out. I was there once myself for rehab and the food was good. They have a chef on duty and he's good. They have a room to get them all up and they play bingo, listen to music, watch TV, and they have a lot of games and things that they play with the ones who want to. They have an exercise room, they have a TV room, they have a game room, they have several different things like that. It's definitely clean.

My mother has been a resident of Autumnwood of Deckerville for close to 2 years now. When she was first settled into the facility, she was seeing and hearing people. But with the proper care, she is on medication that has eliminated this. I visit her twice a month,, for my peace of mind and to have chats with her. The staff are all terrific at what they do; from cleaning the room, giving her showers weekly, working with her pickyness for food, coloring her hair, and even involving her in daily activities. I always ask her if she is happy, if she is sleeping okay, and if the food is okay.. all of which she answers yes to. They call me whenever there is a concern. Just today they called to say that she has a bruise on her leg, they are not sure how she got it, but they make sure I am always aware of anything. We have bi-monthly meetings in which we go over anything new and I am allowed to ask any questions or raise any concerns I may have. They always are there to answer even between meetings. I am impressed with the way they treat everyone as if they were the only resident there. I love the many ways they entertain the residents. From games to field trips,, these residents are involved in so many interesting things. The holidays are made extra special and their kindness is over done. All in all I would highly recommend this home for anyone looking for a good , clean, well dedicated staff of people caring and loving to take care of your loved one.
