I moved into the senior apartments of Moravia Park Drive in Baltimore. I chose it because it's closer to my daughter, so I only live up the street from my daughter now. I'm also familiar with this area because I've lived here at one point. So far, so good. The only thing I don't like about the community is that they really don't have a lot of places where seniors can go and get food or whatever. We have to go a little distance for that. They do have a church across the street. A supermarket and a little shopping area are around the corner. You just have to jump on the bus, and they take it around the corner, and you're right there. If you have a car, they also have restaurants and a liquor store in the area. It's a pretty safe area, and I feel comfortable here. The people in my building are friendly. We have meetings together on Fridays where I also serve meals to the seniors. We have a utility room, a weight room, an exercise room, and a library. We do little activities, too. We just had karaoke not too long ago. We also play games, and it's fun. We have a laundry room on each floor and an activity room that has a pool table. We also have vending machines. The office manager is great. She's very understanding and very helpful. The maintenance guy is also good. The cleanliness inside is great, and I love my huge bathroom. This place is much bigger than where I was, so I'm loving it. I do wish my kitchen was a little bit bigger, because I can't put a table and chair in the kitchen or anything like that. I have a little window area where I can put a table underneath, though. I have a balcony, and I love the walk-in closet. The bedroom is a nice size, too. I'm not paying as much as I was for my other place, so my rent is a little cheaper here. The only issue is that I pay for my own electricity, but that's it.
