I really liked Allen Place. The people that we met there were friendly. It was nice that the layout was in a circular way so residents could just continue walking if they got lost. They wouldn't run into a dead end. It was just constant and they'd end up back where they needed to be. The rooms were nice. They had different options for room sizes that you could choose from. They had a studio, a small one-bedroom, and then a larger one-bedroom. They usually have five or six different activities each day, and they have the lists scheduled out by the main entrance right by the cafeteria area where everyone can eat. They have a courtyard and it was enclosed in that circle of the building so they couldn't get out of the facility. They also have an area set up for a salon.

Allen Place assisted living was very clean. The apartments that they had were nice and it's a big facility, so you can walk around inside and get plenty of exercise. We saw 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments and they were nice and good sized. They have all kinds of activities. They have dominoes and cards. They also have a library and a pool table. They have an exercise area and they also have an outdoor area that's enclosed, so it's very nice.

When I walked in Allen Place, it felt good. It did not feel cold or like an institution. It felt like a home. From what I saw, everything looked clean. They needed a better sign on a main street to let everybody know where the place is.
