"I really liked Allen Place. The people that we met there were friendly. It was nice that the layout was in a circular way so residents could just continue walking if they got lost. They wouldn't run into a dead end. It was just constant and they'd end up back where they needed to be. The rooms were nice. They had different options for room sizes that you could choose from. They had a studio, a small one-bedroom, and then a larger one-bedroom. They usually have five or six different activities each day, and they have the lists scheduled out by the main entrance right by the cafeteria area where everyone can eat. They have a courtyard and it was enclosed in that circle of the building so they couldn't get out of the facility. They also have an area set up for a salon."

"We went and toured Azria Health Rose Vista. It was nice. The gentleman we spoke with was nice. The unit was good. It was a nice-sized apartment. The facilities were older, but they looked well-kept. They showed us the library, the dining room, and where people would get together and play games and stuff. Everybody we encountered was nice. The only downside to it is that its a little bit older and a little bit far out, but otherwise, it was all very good."

"Oakland Heights is nice and small. It is in a rural community, which meets my mom's needs. She has a lot in common with the other residents. The care is excellent. They are not nickel and dime use. At so many places we looked at, everything she needs is another add-on or another fee. Whereas here, more of the stuff is included in the base price. They have bingo. They have chapels. They have piano players come in. They have a Wii. There is a lot of stuff. There are only 12 people, but they take them to Walmart, and they go out to eat. They have a lot of activities for them. They offer transportation, but up to this point, my sister still takes her to the regular doctors. The exception of that is she doesn't have to go to her foot doctor to have her nails trimmed because they can do it on site. She has three meals a day. They eat in the dining room. For a limited number of times, they can eat in their room like if they are sick of something, but otherwise, they go knock on their door. The staff is very friendly. She likes them a lot. If she needs something for maintenance, she just tells them what she needs, and they come and do it. She loves the staff. They keep her very clean. They do help her with housekeeping in her room once a week. They come and take out her trash every day, and the common areas are also clean. "

"My husband moved into Manning Senior Living and we're very happy. I felt good when I walked into the door of Manning, I had a good feeling about it. I didn't have a good feeling at the other places I went to. The director is amazing. It's smaller, maybe 30 residents, so I feel like there will be lots of care, and the people that work there are invested in the community, so they're also invested in the clients. I really like it. He's going to be moving to a one-bedroom, but right now he's in a suite or a studio. We're moving him soon, we just need to put the furniture together. They have bingo, crafts, movie days, ice cream socials, cards, and puzzles. They also have a library, an exercise place, and somewhere they can take a walk."

"Heritage House has been very responsive to my mother's needs. The facility is very nice, as are the other residents and staff. We appreciate the care that my mom is receiving, but she has been there before for a short period of time for rehabilitation therapy, and had a very good experience too, so there was no hesitation in returning because of that positive experience she had. She is in a one-bedroom apartment, and the floor plan is very nice. It works well for her even though she's visually impaired. I'm not as familiar yet with all the activities because of COVID, and that has changed because of the pandemic. However, they were very responsive in giving all the residents their COVID vaccine. This has enabled them to have very, very few cases of COVID, and for the residents to once again be able to dine together while maintaining social distance, and visitors to be able to come in with the only requirement of being masked, just being careful, and following social distancing practices. This makes the residents not feel so isolated as many communities have and still do. We saw that as a real positive thing for our mother because she is an extremely social person. She loves being in a community, and she has many friends there. The nurses, CNAs, and the dietitian that I've interacted with have all been nice and pleasant, along with the marketing team and the community relations person. They have tried very, very hard to continue with the activities. Although they are very expensive, and it's not available for all of the communities, overall, we've had excellent experience at the Heritage House."

"I toured Azria Health Longview. It seemed to be nice and clean. Everything looked really good. The rooms were very nice. They seemed to be good, functional and stuff, so they should be fine. The staff was very helpful. They had a lot of information, so it worked out well. However, I had never seen any activities. There was only one or two residents, and they were just watching television and stuff. For amenities, they had a little room where I supposed they gather and do games or something, but there wasn't anyone there right then."
