We're in the process of moving into Southern Meadows. They have bungalows, but we're in the apartment building. It was a little bit bigger than what we're living in, and it was like $15 more. It's only two years old. It's all got energy-efficient appliances. It's got a washer and dryer. We just liked it. The staff is great. There are two ladies there, and they're very good to work with. The living room, dining room area, and kitchen are all one huge room. Then there's a balcony off to one side. You go down a hallway, and there's a washer and dryer closet on the left, and there is a huge bathroom. Everything is ADA compliant, so all the doorways are extra wide. The bathroom doesn't have a tub. It's got a step-in shower, but the size of the shower compares to the size of a bathtub. It's very large. It's got two bedrooms, one with just a normal closet, and the master bedroom has a huge walk-in closet. It's a no-smoking facility, and you have to have a key fob to get in, so it's a secured building. They put out a newsletter each month. They have a sister community that they're pairing with now, and there are shopping trips to groceries every other week. Later this fall, they're planning a trip to Brown County for the day. I think every couple of months, they go to the casinos. They have a gaming room. Each building has an exercise room. There's a treadmill, some weights, and a bicycle. They have a nice clubhouse where you can go down and meet with other people and play cards. There's a Keurig-type coffeepot. Next Friday, they're going to be running all the Jaws movies and have popcorn and sodas. They put out an activities calendar at the beginning of every month to show you what's coming. It's out in the middle of nowhere. It's built on farmland. You pass a strip mall that has restaurants, a veterinarian, and a pet grooming store. Then you go about another half a mile down the road and turn onto Napier Drive. It's back a good piece off of Southport Road. There's nothing around it but that. There's a child care center on one side of the street, and then you go on around and curve to the left, and there is the leasing office. There are nice amenities. It has plenty of closets. All the people living there that we've talked to really seem to like it, and it is pet-friendly. I've only dealt with the office staff. I haven't dealt with maintenance. The people we've run into who live there were friendly. You have to prepare your own meals. They have a lovely kitchen with a stove, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, and an ice maker in the freezer of the refrigerator. All the appliances are black. The cabinets are black wood. Each apartment either has a small patio or a small balcony off of it. Smoking is only allowed outside on your patio or your balcony. You cannot smoke in the building.
