"I toured The Landings Senior Villages. I really liked it, but it was more expensive. It doesn't fit my budget, but people were very friendly there. It's too far away from me and I didn't want to be out that far. The lady that I met was just very friendly and showed me around. The residents there were friendly and welcoming. They were setting up for lunch when I came in. I went into a house that was occupied. The old lady had it set up very nicely. Compared to the other facilities, it's a little roomier and it's newer. Everything looks fine, neat, and clean."

"The two girls I met with for my tour were not sales-like or pushy which was nice. They seemed to understand and care how hard it was for me to even tour. I visited around lunch and the food looked appetizing. As much as I’ll hate having him away, I think the pines is going to be a great home for my husband. "

"I really liked The Overlook, it was nice. I went to see their assisted living for my husband and it was a great tour. I enjoyed talking to the person who walked me around. She showed me the spaces that were available, we toured the whole building, and she gave me information about it. The price was good, it's just that my husband needs more care than what they offer. I was also concerned because they don't have as many people available at night to assist, and he needs assistance in that area. The room was a one-bedroom, it was small, but it had a living area, a bathroom, and a bedroom, so it was nice. The one they showed me was near the cafeteria, so it would have been convenient for my husband to just walk out to the eating area. The place where they ate was also a common area with sofas and all kinds of pretty things. It's very charming, open, and welcoming."

"My aunt moved into Rainbow Senior Care Home and she is doing great there. She is in the memory care and their staff is very attentive and very helpful. We were in a situation where we needed to get her to a different facility ASAP and Rainbow Senior Care Home acted promptly. They helped us move her in a matter of hours. Everything is very clean and neat. It's a very family-oriented environment."

"My mother moved into Quiet Oaks Health Care Center. I'm very pleased with it. I'm pleased with the staff. They are very helpful and very kind. The facility is very clean. My mom's room is fine. It is satisfactory. They have a doctor, nurses, a beauty shop, and a courtyard. The food is very good. It was expensive, but I have no complaints. I think they're doing the very best that they can do. I'm very impressed."

"We had a visit at The Gables at Cobb Village and we talked with the director there. They showed us around and they were very friendly. The whole building is nice and bright; lots of extra light coming in to the rooms. They have a nice big dining room. One of the ladies there called us over and told us that she enjoyed and loves living there. "

"My mom-in-law is here. We chose this place because of the people and the way the place is set up. It is easy and convenient for her to walk around, and that way she could still keep some independence, and she could maneuver around. They have a large patio in the center with flowers. The staff are very patient, and plus they understood exactly how things are done. "

"Overall this place was pretty much a stereotypical nursing home that took in poor patients or patients that were not able to get in somewhere else on short notice. It seemed clean enough but overall there was just a sense of depression that one couldn't get past. The residents seemed to be taken care of at the minimum of what was required. My grandfather had been in another location that was very clean and well-lit and the staff seemed very bright and attentive. At my grandmothers, they had trouble with some residents wandering into the other rooms and you never knew what could happen at any minute. Also, there was no chance of a private room and so there were usually a rotating set of roommates. Much more like a hospital than a place to love. "

"The Oaks of Athens is a nice facility. It's small and that's what we wanted my mother-in-law at. They helped us get her approved for Medicaid. They did the pre-approval and we're good to work with. My only gripe about them is, and it could be due to being understaffed, when you email the nurses, they don't always respond. The communication is not that great with the nurses, but if I'm there and talk to them, they're OK. All the CNAs have been wonderful. My mother-in-law has dementia so she's confused as to why she's there, but so far, it's been really good. She's been there a couple of months, and we're going to review her care plan on the 22nd to see if she needs more, because right now she's in a skilled nursing facility and they're going to review and let me know if they need to move her to a hospice when we meet with them in a couple of weeks. Overall, it's a good facility. Everybody's been nice and excited. It's also very nice, very well-kept, and very clean. I don't have any complaints about the facility. They're very helpful. The kitchen staff is awesome. They give her choices about what she's going to eat, and they let us fill it out by the week. If she doesn't like what they're having, they will always make her like a grilled cheese sandwich. So they're very accommodating to the residents and they've been nice about that. They offer lots of activities. They have two movie theaters and they have movies at least a couple of times a week. They have karaoke, bingo, therapy dogs that come once a week, and horses once a month where residents can do horse therapy. They have one or two activities almost every day. My only complaint about the food is that it's not always very hot when it gets her because she's at the end of the hall, but overall, she's just very picky. So she doesn't eat a lot of the food."

"My mom’s room in Spring Valley is really small. There’s usually 2 people to a room, but they only have one chair for visitors. They have their wheelchairs and all kinds of things cluttered inside the room which makes it even smaller. When two people go to visit, one person has to stand up because there’s not enough room. The portions are very small. All their meat is grounded, and it usually comes out pretty cold. They have a TV room, but aside from that, there aren’t any other activities. There are 2 nurses on each shift, and the rest are aides. Honestly, I have heard vulgar language, and they try to pass their duties off to each other and argue about whose duty it is to do what there."

"The hospital recommended Pruitthealth to us for rehab. The staff was all nice, very good and they treat her like she was a friend; they were excellent. She is in a semi-private and they even moved her to a different semi-private because of her roommates, and they were very cooperative with that. The dining room is very nice, it’s a big room with lots of tables. They had all kinds of stuff but she was mainly there for physical and occupational therapy and they work her out there. They made her walk every day; they were so nice. You have to at least buzz in and it’s a long way when you go out -- you have to press a code in to get out and in. "

"We toured the Talmage Terrace. It seems to be a very active community. The price is more in my level for renting. It's associated with the United Methodist Church, which I am Methodist, so that kind of caught my eye. It has everything that I need or want at this time in my life. I found the staff very friendly and informative. The young lady that sits on the desk coming in, she's got a big smile, and she's just really friendly, so that's nice to see. I've talked to a couple I know, and they said the food is great and they haven't had any problems with it. They've been there a couple of years now. The rooms are all fine. They are small apartments. I don't know the exact square footage, maybe 520 square feet, maybe one bedroom living room, dining room combined, a small kitchen and bath area, so it's adequate. It looked very clean. They've got other things going on. They have little gardens and flowers and vegetables, and people just seem to be very active."

"My mom has moved into Magnolia Estates of Elberton. It is very well kept, and the grounds are beautiful. They have some beautiful spaces for patients to enjoy being in community, and then some beautiful private places that they can if they need some privacy. There are activities set up for them daily that they can participate or not participate, whichever they choose. They assist them in whatever needs they may have. Through the week, they do have a morning exercise that they can participate in, and they have bingo and card games. They have different people that come in and entertain from time to time. They also have sing along for Christmas and family dinners sometimes where the family's invited to come. They have delicious meals. The staff treat the patients as if they were their own grandparents. They're very kind and very patient with them, loving on them, hugging, and taking pictures, selfies with them. It's very much a family atmosphere."
