"My mom spent 32 days at Cumming Nursing Center for inpatient rehab from hip surgery. The entire staff cared personally for her. I watched them treat every resident as their own mother, father or grandparent. They have a bird sanctuary in the lobby that all love to watch. I brought bird seed for the many feeders outside the windows and the facilities crew immediately filled the feeders for me without me asking. The staff often dance for the residents and make them laugh. Little things like calling bibs "shirt/blouse protectors" instead of bibs to show dignity. The PT, OT, and Sociology team is awesome, personally caring for each resident and being flexible to accommodate personal schedules. Always upbeat, motivational, and encouraging. Thank you team at Cumming Nursing Center! You are the angels among us! "

"It is hard for me to believe that I have been a resident of St. George Village for almost 10 years. I moved here alone but have found a family of friends,caring staff and a beautiful environment. Lucky me, I call SGV home! "

"I toured Merrill Gardens at Woodstock. It's a nice place. I got a great tour. They offered meals, but I couldn't have the meal at that time. The only thing that we couldn't get in there, first of all, because my husband is a type 2 diabetic, and I asked them if they could give him his medication. They said, "No. We can't. We would have to get off his medication and go back on pills because we're not licensed to give insulin." It's very pretty, and the memory care is very nice and has a lot of activities for all of them. They have a beautiful garden outside where they can go in and sit in, and even in memory care, they can do that."

"Lanier Village Estates was a very great place. You have nice apartments, you buy them though, instead of just paying dues and living in them. You have to get your meals instead of a sit-down meal. They have food bars and you have to go around and select what you want and I don't think I'd like that. I prefer just to go and have a meal served to me. The staff was wonderful. They had good people there. We had lunch there several times and it was excellent. They had their own chef. My husband and I went both and we liked the food. That's our favorite place, but you have to buy your unit. If you get just a one-bedroom and a den, it was pretty affordable. It's a beautiful place, and my son likes it. You can have a nice little apartment, but you can get whatever size you want, a one-bedroom and a den or one-bedroom or two-bedrooms, but of different prices, of course, and then you still have your dues. You have a view out your back of the hills, but when you open your front door, all you see is a long hall with more doors. It has retirement, assisted living, nursing home, and memory care. It has everything. If you got worse, you wouldn't have to move. It has a large ground area. The apartments were great and you could bring your own stuff to furnish. You got your own kitchen and your own laundry room."

"I visited Canterbury Court. Everything was good. I wouldn't mind staying there if it's my choice. The one who toured us was very helpful. She knew exactly what she was talking about and all the things that we needed to know about the place. She was a very good tour guide. Everything was clean and tiptop. I did not try any of the food, but it looked good. They showed us the menus and everything."
