I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Moved my dad in in Aug 2025. Toilet and sink didn't work for weeks after numerous complaints. Mice in his room brought in our own traps. After telling them we would do his laundry because it kept going missing they continued to take his blankets and never bring them back. I probably spent 250 dollars on blankets to never get them back as well as many pairs of sweatpants and t-shirts. WARNING if you require any sort of special care do not send yourself or loved one here. My dad required TPN only a few places will take patients with TPN so we had no real options to move him. Plus it was 10 mins from my house so I could check on him often. Good thing he was close to family and friends or he would of died there. The staff did not know how to work the machine. It runs overnight and that's when they bring in the rotating nurses so every night a different nurse learning how do it all over again. I found my dad laying in his own Feces. His urinals were always found on the ground under his bed so I would find him peeing in water bottles. He spent more time going back to the hospital with infections then he did getting rehab. Final straw was when I took him to his oncologist and she wanted to start him on IV antibiotics and no one would call her or me back to get the coarse started. After 4 days of getting no where. I marched myself into the building demanding answers. Finally got them to talk to the oncologist. Then went to see my dad and found him on deaths door. His tumor had started bleeding and he was throwing up blood and no one noticed. Avoid at all costs.

My brother is at The Lodge at Red Rocks. It's closer to my home, and it's what we could afford. It's like a rehab-type facility. It is kind of assisted living because he can still do everything himself except for his medicine. The only thing I think is that they need to follow up more with patient care. That's the only problem we have up there. Because my brother is diabetic, we've been requesting a podiatrist to go in and cut his toenails for three weeks now, and they still haven't done it. So, that's kind of a big concern. The staff is wonderful, though. They were great. However, the facility itself needs a little bit of TLC, like paint, maybe. Their activity director is awesome, and their physical therapy is really good, too. The staff is good. They take them shopping once a week, they do bingo twice a week, they take them to dinner outings once a month, and they take them to movies and stuff like that, so the activity staff is really great.
