Gardens Care Senior Living - Memorial Park is a great senior living community that can house both Assisted Living (open now) and Memory Care (opening soon) on one beautiful property with 3 unique homes. Each home can house up to 16 residents and this is instrumental for our residents to receive exceptionally personalized care. Our passion for activities is a large reason our seniors have a sense of community and inclusivity. We offer a minimum of 4 activities per day and dedicate a caregiver full-time to activities, this helps our residents come out of their shells and grow relationships with both our caregivers and other residents. Despite being a residential assisted living home, our staff is awake 24 hours a day, our overnight caregivers focus primarily on preparing the meals for the day. This gives our daytime caregivers the freedom to leave the kitchen and tend to our resident's needs. Lastly, we pride ourselves in our all-inclusive pricing. We don't believe in hidden costs or additional costs to the family due to a higher than normal level of care month. "Aspens at Fort Collins seemed a little newer, a little fresher. The staff who assisted me was very helpful and very informative. Everything looked very forthcoming and clean, it looked like a nice place. I looked at all the amenities there. They have a barbershop or hair salon."

"I really appreciate the special attention to making sure that the residents are well taken care of. When my mom was admitted she was isolated for a few days while we waited for the test to come back. We would both hate it if somehow she had it and had shared it with others! The staff has been so accommodating too! I drop stuff off for mom and pick up mail that she doesn't understand. My mom really likes it there. She even says she is lucky to be there! Her happiness and safety mean the world to everyone in my family. "

"MorningStar was a very nice, beautiful place. The staff members were nice. They had musical activities and get-togethers, so it looked good. The dining area looked very nice. It was very attractive."

"Brookdale Fort Collins has assisted living and Crossings. My husband is in Crossings, which is not as bad as memory care. It is a medium, that's why I like it. However, I expected it to be a little bit more hands on than what he's getting and I didn't expect him not being able to have his razor or fingernail clippers. They have to be locked away because another patient may walk into the room and use them or do something with them, which is a little disappointing. They charge you $2,000 upfront just to be able to go in there. He's in a fairly nice studio. The food is awful and cooked in one of the other facilities. You can hardly even tell what it is half the time, but he's satisfied with it at this point. The girl that entertains them is quite good and is a sweetheart. Another girl named Katy is wonderful and cheerful, and the head nurse is really nice and hands-on. The patio is quite small. It has a little gazebo that will fit about 15 to 20 people. They showed me the patio in the assisted living, which was bigger. Also, the price is too much for what he gets."

"We toured Collinwood Assisted Living and Memory Care, and it's our first choice. It had a large-type feel to it. It's very clean, and the staff was organized. It just looks like a good option for my mother. We toured both assisted living and memory care. The staff was organized, well-informed, and answered all of our questions. The facility was very clean with good upkeep, and it has a lodge like feel. It doesn't feel like a nursing home."

"My mother is in Brookdale Fort Collins in her own one-bedroom studio apartment that has a mini kitchen, although she cannot use any of that. They have activities every day in all kinds of areas. They are patient, caring, and try to be as involved as they can with her as much as she allows. She is a very private person and does not like a lot of interruption. The only negative about it is the facility changed staff. However, in all fairness, Brookdale has been bringing it up to its standards. So, even though I do not like it, I can understand the need to change the staff fairly regularly. Mother loves the food. They expanded the facility, and it is just excellent and very clean. "

"I had an in-person tour of Parkwood Estates. There is a lot of activity, which is nice. We had lunch, and it was very good. What I liked least is that they can't cook on their own, so there's no stove in the rooms. The staff did a very good job of explaining everything to us. The staff was very nice. The food was tasty. The salad was a little wilted, but overall it was good. The cleanliness was good. It wasn't great. The facility is very aged and needs major upgrades. We just looked at the studio apartments, and they were adequate and decent."

"We chose Seven Lakes Memory Care for my husband. We toured it, and it was very friendly and not gigantic. They are very thorough, and it was small. It had fewer than a hundred people in it, and it was divided into four sections. It has hospice care when needed. Obviously, it has meals and activities, and the price was pretty comparable to everywhere else. We were with a salesperson, but almost everyone stopped and visited with us. They were accessible. We were there during lunch, and they stopped and answered our questions. I went to the dining room during the lunch hour, and they were having shrimp, rice, and vegetables. The place is pretty new, and the rooms are pretty good sized."

"We went to Sugar Valley Estates. We have gone there twice. The people that are living there seemed very nice. They seemed really approachable. They were very pleasant and seemed open to other people coming in. The dining room was really set up nice. The staff member was a five. His name is John, and he just was so nice. He just showed us everything and answered all of our questions. He introduced us to people that lived there. He was like amazing. The apartments seemed very cheap. They were very sterile, too sterile. All the walls are boring white paint. They have cheap cabinets and tiny little kitchens. They don't have any stoves or anything like that. It just seemed cheap. The facility itself was very clean. I don't think the location is the greatest. It's right in the middle of a neighborhood. Of course, they offer all transportation to get to things, but it would be nice if these places would put their independent living places near shopping centers, because people don't always drive, and then they could maybe take their little scooter over there or walk over to shopping centers, but they don't have that. Another thing that wasn't good is they only offer transportation to go somewhere on Thursdays and Fridays, and on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, those are reserved for doctors' appointments. If somebody has no car, that's pretty limited on being able to get out of the place."

"We toured Hillcrest of Loveland. They have a porch you can eat out on. It was a very nice and well-taken care of facility. They also have a very pleasant staff. This place is our second choice for our mom."
