"My mother is living in Brookdale Eden for quite some time now. I like the place because it is the hometown of my mother. They have a nice and clean facility. They have basic and medium sized rooms. The price is lesser than some of the other communities I visited. My mother likes the food and the dining room as well. They have bingo, flower arranging, movies, and shopping. They also have bible classes. "

"My aunt is a resident of Cardinal Senior Living of Danville. She's doing quite well. She's OK being there. They gave me a tour, and I just liked everything about it. When we arrived, there was a man in the foyer. He was singing. They were just all sitting around in the common area and watching him sing. They do little different activities with them. It's a beautiful place. They all seemed very nice and caring. I wish they did more with my aunt, like letting her walk. Whenever anyone goes down there, they have her in the wheelchair, but when she was here living with me, I would get her up and let her walk every day to strengthen her legs. I took a wheelchair down there, a walker with wheels and just a regular walker, but all they seem to use is the wheelchair. She likes the food and doesn't care that much for bread. They give them breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. The price they quoted me when I looked into it went up. The way it was explained to me, the lady said they go up every year, but when I talked to her initially, it was already 2025. So, if they were going to go up on her rate, she should have told me that instead of sidelining me and telling me where it would be after you told me this amount."

"Commonwealth Senior Living at Stratford House had an elevator that the patients can use. I found it interesting that they had a little area where they have weights and exercise equipment. They also had a beautiful library. Those were appealing to me. They offer a lot of activities for the residents to do, for stimulation, to get them out of the room, and get them involved and engaged. They also have physical therapy available three times a week. The staff who gave us the tour was very personable, very attentive to any concerns that I brought up, and very, very helpful. They have a patio, which is a nice outside resting area."

"My husband was in Mulberry Creek Assisted Living two years ago and he was there maybe 10 or 11 months. They were really good to him, and he liked that place. It's near my house. The staff is very, very nice. They have been very helpful to get him in, and very easy to register him and everything. Everybody has just been super nice. The nurses and the cleaning staff have been so nice to him and friendly. He's really having a good time because he's very, very outgoing and talkative, and he talks to them all, and two of them told me that they loved him. They're doing really well with food. They don't give him beef. They give him exactly what he has to have. He says it's good and he's enjoying it. He's eaten a whole lot better than he did at home. They have a very good chef, and the food is good. Last year, when he was there before, I ate there a lot, and they always had good food. It's nice, and they keep it clean. They have a lady who's walking around all day, making sure everything is clean. I don't enjoy having to pay that much, but it's pretty reasonable, and I'm satisfied with that too."

"King's Grant is a very nice assisted living facility. The residents who live there can feel proud bringing a friend or family member over. There are many amenitites available for the residents and their guests. There is a cafeteria style dinning area that serves three meals a day that guests can take part in as well. There is a nice library with a good collection of books. They also have computers with internet access which I found to be very helpful when visiting. There are activities available for the residents to participate in, but they don't have to if they don't choose to participate. The best part is that the residents have their own apartments so they are not forced to share their rooms or their privacy with anyone else. If something happens to a resident's health, they have medical professionals on site to take care of them. This facility is one of the best that I have seen, and they really do a good job of creating a nice dignified environment for their guests. "

"Harmony Hall has improved SO MUCH this year! It's exciting! The atmosphere of the entire place has greatly improved. People are happy like never before. The dining room is being removed and looks fabulous! They have more activities than they have had before. They have much better food....I ate Bar-B-Q up ribs there last week. People were going back for 2nd and 3rd plates of food. So blessed to have my family member here!!! "

For country living in a secluded neighborhood TLC Adult Home has the ideal atmosphere for your loved one. LC Adult Home has obtained a state license in residential and assisted living, therefore we are expected to follow procedures and regulations originated and amended by the state. We have regular unannounced visits by Social Services as well as the Health Department. Our home is very spacious with hardwood floors, easy for safe ambulation. The family room has cathedral ceilings and a rock fireplace giving it a comfortable setting for activities as well as visiting with family members and friends. We serve 3 hot meals daily along with snacks. Quarterly visits by a registered dietitian to meet nutritional needs. As well as professional hairdresser services. Laundry service and pharmacy delivery is also provided for our residents. We also offer 2 large walk-in showers that are handicapped accessible along with a Jacuzzi bath. All living facilities are on the ground floor. We provide 24 hour care 7 days a week. "I think this facility is pretty good. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The food is not so great but of course it could be what grandma has to eat. I do have a problem with them not turning her like they should She has developed a bed sore and they do not turn her properly. The overall cleaning is ok. I think they could be a lot cleaner. It would also help if they removed some of the stuff out of the hallway. There are stretchers, carts, wheel chairs and misc items all over the hallway. Sometimes the patients are rather rude but I guess it is because they have major problems. They rarely taker her outside and she loves the outdoors. It is in a fairly decent location in Danville though. Most places in the area seem to be in sketchy neighborhoods but this one is not so bad. "

"My mother recently passed away after being a resident of Red Oak Manor for a little over four and half years. When I would stop by to visit with her, the facility was always clean. I knew my mother was safe, comfortable, and content. Her daily needs and routines such as meals, medication, hygiene, and socialization were meet. She was content which helped me be content. I want to thank the Red Oak Manor staff for the care that they provided to my mother."

"The Landings of Rockingham is brand new, and they would take care of getting my parents to the doctor. The staff was very friendly and willing to accommodate our schedule. They had a workout place, they had activities for them to participate in, and they had a courtyard. The cleanliness was excellent. There's a Lowes grocery, Wendy's, Coach's restaurant, and Pizza Hut nearby. The bedroom size was equivalent to the other place we saw, but this one was furnished."

"My mother-in-law went to Oak Grove Residential Care today, and she has settled in. It feels good. Everybody is friendly. The place is clean and very accommodating. Her room looks small, but very accommodating. She likes the food a lot. I think the dining room is good. They have movies, Wii activities, and church. "
