I'm currently living in the Senior Residences of Jacksonville. There are 1 and 2-bedroom apartments, and 4-plexes here. They have been here for a while, probably at least 20 years old, but they're kept up well. There's a nice ring of very tall Arkansas pines, probably 30 feet high, so they're enormously tall. The grounds are well-kept, and we have a community manager. I have a 1-bedroom apartment with a really nice walk-in closet and a bathroom with a shower, which is good for me. There's a living room and a kitchen area. People who move out of these places often leave furniture, so I've got some of the leftover furniture, and then some I brought with me. Up where the manager's office is, there's a sort of a classroom or a meeting room, and then next to it is the dining room that also has a refrigerator. On Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, Mother's Day, and occasions like that, we sometimes bring stuff like cake, or people make things and cook it. Some of the money that we pay as rent is also saved for these social occasions. Every couple of months, when there's an apartment that's really nicely cleaned, we'll have a little party in that place. The manager used those places to have a little social time. She's really good at seeing to our needs and at the same time wanting to keep all the residents occupied. There is a maintenance guy whom we call if our furnace or our air conditioning doesn't work. Right now, I have a refrigerator that is not completely dead, but it's falling apart, and I'm going to have to tell the manager that I'm tired of the leaking on the floor from it. The stove works fine, and I don't have a dishwasher here, but I don't need one because I don't make that many dishes. The lawn guys are doing a great job of keeping the lawn mowed and making sure we don't have a million mosquitoes out here. It's also easy to walk around here. I have a dog, so I always walk, and you can walk outside the community towards the suburban area with all these ranch houses. There's a big park, and we can walk around that, so we have plenty of things and a nice little suburban area right outside us. There doesn't seem to be any significant crime going on that I know of in this area.
