My mom is in Anchorage Pioneer Home. They've been very welcoming, and they call me with updates. It's an older building, so the rooms are kinda plain. The staff always greets us, talks to us, and answers any questions. They were going through a remodel when I sat with my mom during lunch. They don't do a lot of activities. They had a plan for Mother's Day, but it got canceled because they had a COVID outbreak. They had a chapel and a salon. They had a little shop there, too.

This place used to be highly recommend but with budget cuts and poor leadership it has turned into a madhouse. They have short staffing, limited activities and dangerously aggressive people throughout the building. This is a state run institution run right into the ground. I am relocating my mother after a near 7 foot tall man on ankle monitoring from the local police station (a person they allowed to live in this home, knowing full well he was violent) decided to have a rampage and destroy facility equipment. Who in the world is making decisions for this facility? Have they lost their damn mind? Scary place to live for my mother. Do NOT place your elderly relatives here. Do NOT support this state entity.

I felt like each person in the facility was being cared for appropriately. Everyone seemed to be professional, the facility was clean and the staff was friendly.

Alaska Pioneers' Home is a good nursing home. They treat their residence and help old aged persons with love and care. As far as I am concerned they are not money minded. They maintain a good garden and a park for relaxation. They maintain the rooms neatly. Toilets were cleaned twice a day. It has a library containing many spiritual books. It has a high speed net connections. And many more indoor games are available over there. All the faculties working there doesn't hesitate to do any sort of help for the residents.Regular journals and periodicals are issued to them. They do this service for pleasure and earning good deeds from heart. The residents are free to talk, share their opinions and are free to do any work in there. I could see the love and happiness in everybody's eyes.I whole heartedly recommended this nursing home for many elders.I too get a relaxed mind in spending time in that nursing home.
