"My mom stayed in Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home. I liked it, they cared for her there. They're very caring about her needs. The staff was amazing, they're very good. It was clean. It was very well taken care of there. I was very satisfied with them. The staff was very concerned with my mom, they'll call me and tell me how she's doing, and when her medications change, they'll send me a form."

"I have moved to the Regency Retirement Village - Tuscaloosa. It's a good place to live, they take good care of you. The staff is attentive to you and they listen to you. Most of the food is good, but it's a hit or miss. We have activities and games, we've got country rides and movies. I also used to live there a year ago. They've got an activity room, it's got a nice cafeteria, and it's got a nice sitting area when you first come in."

"Hamrick Highlands is an assisted living, and this was the first place we took my mother-in-law to. The only problem was they deemed she would be OK in this place and not have to go to a memory place. They said they would try, and they thought she would do OK there. They said she could stay there as long as she didn't try to go out the doors, which she did, and she was asked to leave. I really liked the facility. The only problem was she didn't belong there. The rest of the people were assisted living and they pretty much had their mentality about them. They had great activities and really good homecooked food right there in front of you. I would recommend it for lower than middle class. It's for simple, plain, good old country people. They were happy and they were treated good. They only had one nurse on-staff at night, and she watched the whole facility at night by herself. Whoever was on-call was there for a whole night. It was not bad; it was because they trusted that people weren't leaving the facility. The doors would buzz if my mother-in-law opened it, but she didn't stay there very long because she tried to go looking for her son outside in the woods. The staff was very caring. These seniors love old religious songs, and they would have somebody come in and play old gospel music. The room would be packed, and they would sing their hearts out. They would play cards and games out there where they ate. It was their fun activity center, too. What I saw was good."
