I had Superior Home Health Uvalde come to the house after my surgery so it was very easy for me. They provided a home health care wounds specialist for the surgical incision, for the scar, and to monitor the wound. They also provided a physical therapist that came to the house to help me with rehab, following surgery. I'm a paraplegic so I needed upper body strength to make transfers and that sort of thing. The therapist helped with a regime or a routine that I could follow to strengthen my shoulders and my chest and arms. They were the home health provider for the geographical area. It's a rural area, a lot of big farming, community farms, and ranches, so there weren't a whole lot of options. I could go to the hospital and get it there or I could stay at home and have home health. It was the one recommended by my orthopedic surgeon. They had very knowledgeable and very capable nurses and physical therapists that evaluated my needs and provided those needs. They were very professional in their behavior, in their routine, and how they presented themselves. They called before coming to make sure I was available. They would schedule a time and in a day for me to be prepared for them to come by. There was flexibility on my part because if one of their prior patients ran long, then, of course, that reflected on their ability to be on time for me. They were very professional in keeping me informed of how their day was going. If they were supposed to be there at 10 and their day was running long, they would call me and let me know that they were going to be an hour late or what have you. It was all very good. I had them for about 2 months.
