The initial person we dealt with was great. Very kind and compassionate. When we met the nurse case manager, things were different. Communication was problematic. She was not receptive to the care we needed and was difficult to speak with. No matter how good the agency is, it boils down to this person- and we were less than pleased. What really disappointed us was that the agency did not honor our request to change the nurse case manager. So we have elected to change agencies.

*caring nurses-their greatest asset. *be aware during critical care time period-they can’t guarantee a nurse will be available to sit with your loved overnight , which is a concern. *family education concerning end of life issues & patient pain medication explanation is weak in my opinion. *Before the critical care time, I called about concerns concerning pain management after hours. An -on call-nurse came out to see Mother & resolved the issue for which I’m grateful. — — — I’m not sure if I’d recommend AMED because I don’t know the performance of other hospice organizations in the area. Do your homework. I’d say my review is a mixed bag of conclusions, but they did what they could to keep Mom comfortable.
