My wish is that these facilities did not exist- My reality is that we needed assistance from such a facility for our 66 year old Healthy--Mother who meant the world to us. What a shocking day to receive news that she had pancreatic cancer and 3-6 months to live-WOW This was a woman who never met a stranger and loved everyone unconditionally- We are from the south and I always said to her it was because she was a southern belle- she stated nawh-just a glorified ding dong- She had a sparkle in her eye and love to give to everyone! What a special lady- and special ladies deserve special treatment- at this point there wasn't any hired help who would treat her as special as we would- I made the hardest call ever and called Hospice- to my suprise they were wonderful- sincere and like family they visited her everyday- until Momma got her reward- Jesus--- and we got a wonderful memory that NO Person on earth can take away or replace- you see our angel went to be an angel- We miss her but appreciate Hospice - they were a place to lean when my mothers family needed to lean. She was already leaning on her faith when we felt forgotten.
