Hospice of Rutherford County is the greatest! I have had more than one experience in the past few years with this agency. They caringly give to all patients and family during the hardest times of their lives-the end. I watched my mother in law slowly die from cancer, she was under Hospice care for four months at home. Her in home nurse was great, she always answered all our questions or went the extra mile to find out. They gave comfort care and encouragement when needed. The nurse even new within hours of her demise, and this allowed all her family to say goodbye. The truth is we all will die someday, Hospice makes it a little easier. I give every pay period(my fair share) to Hospice of Rutherford County thru United Way and will never be able to repay all they have done for me and my family! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

My sister was recently in the care of this hospice organization. I am very appalled by the care she was given. Not onced during any of the nurses visit did she stay longer than 10 minutes, her scheduled visits were 3 x a week she showed up twice a week until my sisters final 2 days. On Sunday before my sister passed her gown and bath was given by family members 5days later she passed in the same gown. I would think that a nurse would be trained on how to bath and change my sisters gown without hurting her and show my sister some dignity by cleaning her up. My sister was 57 years old and changed her PJs everyday. The thought of her laying in her bed seeping from her pores, this disgaced both my mother and I. Hospitals take better care of their patients! When we asked questions to this nurse her answers were short and curt, like we didn't even matter...even though for 2.5 years my mother and I were the only caregivers she had. I have had other family members in the care of other hospice organazatios and they did a great wonderful job. I would never recommend this hospice to anyone! E

My mother was admitted to hospice of Rutherford County following chemo and radiation to recover from symptoms related to treatment, however, within days of hospice being involved in her care! she was being heavily medicated yet had no pain. Fortunately, we were able to get other discharged from their care and transferred to another facility out of state thanks to a family member who is a medical professional. At the timely mother was transferred, she was only hours or days from dying and is now recovering. It seems that because my mother had a terminal diagnosis! that Hospice took it upon themselves to be angels of mercy and medicate her with morphine hourly, haldol, Xanax even though she had no pain! She went through her entire chemo and radiation treatments taking only Tylenol for pain. Hospice of Rutherford almost killed my mother! Hospice has a place for those in their final stages of life, but this hospice gives the organization a bad reputation.

We have my mother in a hospice facility called Hospice of Rutherford County. She has been there since July 1st. Their service is excellent. The staff is great. Everyone there is an angel! They are taking good care of my mom, treating her like a queen. Whenever we visited her there, they would ask us if we need something. They're just wonderful. They are just like family now.
