Two years ago my father was treated at Cabrini Hospice. Although he was in his last stages of Alzheimer's disease, he was treated with dignity and respect. The nurses were very welcoming and caring. They truly understood what my dad and my family were going through. It helped being able to spend the last few weeks by my father's bedside and not be kicked out of his room because visiting hours were over. They were open 24 hours a day and even provided a cot for my own comfort and rest. While these were the most difficult moments of my life, having my father comfortable and taken care of by people who truly cared made a big difference and took a huge weight off of my own shoulders.
