My mother was admitted to the inpatient unit after a lengthy hospital stay. Her pain was never controlled in the hospital & she was diagnosed with cancer. Unfortunately it was end stage but the hospital wanted to keep her for palliative radiation. We insisted she move & getting her to Samaritan hospice was the best decision. The staff were caring, gentle & loving! They immediately worked on pain control & finally after weeks of suffering my mother was finally comfortable. I couldn't have asked for a better place.

If I could give Samaritan hospice no stars I would. My father was admitted to the inpatient unit for a medication change, I expected him home in 3-5days. They kept him until he died. Everyday I asked them when they were going to change his medication and send him home, they never did. What they did do was sedate him to the point of unconsciousness, because he wanted to get up and go to the bathroom. He couldn't even pick his head up to take a drink of water, they stopped feeding him and giving him water, refused to give him IV fluids, he died one week later. None of the doctors ever spoke to any of our family, even though I asked to be called if there were any problems they never did. The managers attitude was very disrespectful. It was horrible for my entire family.
