"I am using Passionate Heart Hospice for my wife at home. I didn't choose them. She got to the point where we couldn't take her into the hospital, like at Kaiser, to see a doctor. So, a couple of doctors came out to see her and recommended this care center. I had never looked for one. It seemed like a good choice, and I didn't know at that time. They have licensed nurses. A nurse comes out once a week to check her vitals, work with me, and ensure she has the right medications. She needs refills, and they also have to make sure we have the right supplies, like underwear and bed pads. They also have a 24-hour-a-day on-call nurse. They call the nurse station and can get you anything you need. Then, twice a week, we have, I call them a nurse's aide, but they have people trained to bathe her, make sure that she doesn't have bed sores, and make sure she's comfortable. I've never had an issue with filling prescriptions. If I call or talk to the nurse that she's running low on a certain item, or I have to call the desk there, the prescription is often refilled that same day and delivered. So, I'm very pleased with that. We've been using the service for about six months now. I'm very pleased, and the nurses are always very reliable. They visit once a week. They will come out if there's a need for more frequent care. They stay in contact with a doctor. So, they're very attuned to my wife's needs."

"We used Evergreen Hospice Care for my husband. The hospital my husband was in recommended Evergreen Hospice Care to me. They were very professional and caring. They had doctors and nurses. They're still contacting me if I need any type of care. They have workshops and professionals to talk to. They're just a great hospice. They care about the individual. It was taken care of by Medicare. I would recommend them."

"As a hospice care facility, a place meant to provide care for those with terminal illnesses, the care was extremely lacking. The only thing the staff should be concerned with is making their patients comfortable in their final days/weeks and this was not the case. My grandmother was frequently skipped and not given adequate pain medication, or adequate food. The facilities themselves were nice and well taken care of but the staff was negligent and I believe they contributed to my grandmother passing sooner than expected. "

"Companion Home Health's staff was very good. We had an RN who came once a week and a CNA who came twice a week to help with bathing my mom. The RN would check vitals and test her blood glucose just to make sure we were still on target. The doctor who was assigned to my mom came once a month. They were great. The nurse's aide on occasion wouldn't show up the day she was assigned and would come the next day, and on occasion they were lacking in the supplies that they were supposed to provide, but outside of that, their RNs were fabulous, and their office staff was incredible. At times, it was confusing, only because I'm the power of attorney overseeing my mom's care, but my sister was living with her, and the staff would get confused as to who they needed to update. The last RN we had though, Shawn, was fabulous. He not only updated my sister with everything, but he also called me afterward and let me know what was going on. He was incredible and a godsend."

The administrator is a very smart lady and knows how to hire the best skilled nursing staff. The nurses are knowledgable and will assist in meeting the needs of your loved one during their time of need. "

"My mom was getting palliative care with Angels On Earth Hospice. They do palliative care and they do hospice. My mom was on hospice with them. They were great with her. They showered her twice a week. Their nursing is on call 24/7. Medications were sent home. They monitored her medications, they monitored her care, and they checked her vitals. They're very patient with her. They're very communicative. They were very compassionate with my mom. They're a great service for hospice care. We're satisfied. They just came in and provided this service. They did what they had to do."

"Stay away from Monarch. We hired them for my father who suffered from a great deal of needless pain at the end of his life. Monarch showed little to no interest in seeing him. They mainly just sent drugs and equipment via the mail. He couldn't swallow pills yet that was what they sent because they spent so little time with him. They also never showed how the oxygen or nebulizer worked. So when my father struggled to breath they were giving instructions over the phone. My father's digestive system stopped working but we didn't know because we're not doctors and Monarch rarely stopped by. We never saw a doctor. Stay away from Monarch is all I can say. My father suffered in large part because we picked the wrong company."
