My father is currently on this service. This has been our experience to date:
1. The supplies originally supplied by this company for care of my hemiplegic father were inadequate. The chucks were ineffective, the diapers, the cheapest brand - also ineffective; the gloves always tear when you first put them on. And originally, they provided dry wipes. After complaining to their director, they assured us that a different chuck and brief would be ordered. We've yet to see them (2+ months in); we still get the same gloves; they started bringing wet baby wipes, which I complained about (because my dad is an adult) and now they bring adult wet wipes (but we're told every time that this was an ordering mistake so the impression given is that this will not be provided indefinitely). They did also start bringing thickener, lotion, and calmoseptin for skin care which are needed and helpful. They do not provide no-rinse bathing foam.
In terms of nursing care, we have had two assigned nurses through this company. The first was inexperienced and ineffectual. I had to eventually raise a fuss over bowel care because the nurse did not seem to understand the need for assistance. The second nurse we interact with is better clinically speaking -I trust her- but she sometimes says things in such a manner as to be condescending. We have also interacted with an on-call nurse for an emergency. He was excellent, kind, compassionate, and clinically sound.
We have interacted with four CNAs through this company to date. They have all been excellent but two of them have seemed stressed and complained to us that they are under a lot of pressure from the company to do showers more quickly. They are very efficient so I honestly do not understand how they could do the job more quickly and still be safe.
The chaplain appeared more interested in meeting with me then my father. I reiterated several times that my ideas around religion may be different from his to which he responded, "We serve everyone. Some believe in the trees - which is their right , even though that surely is not going to save them." That turned me off. He has called three times requesting a return visit which I have not granted.
The caregiver support group has been helpful and so I can recommend it without reservation.
The Social Worker has been out to the house a couple of times. She was helpful in finding a resource to repair my father's hospital bed. That was a huge help.
Overall, we have found this company to be decent, not great.
