I had a very good tour at New Perspective | Twin Ports. I got to see a lot of things, like where the laundry was and the dining room. There was a big room where everybody could gather for activities and all that kind of thing. I saw the one-bedroom with the kitchenette. It was really nice. The guy who toured me around was really good. He showed me everything. I got to see inside an apartment because the lady who was moving in there hadn't moved in yet. They're nice and new and havr nice windows, so it's bright in them. I have no complaints about that. You could get a studio, a one-bedroom with a kitchenette, a one-bedroom with a full kitchen, or a two-bedroom with a full kitchen. The staff was very accommodating, nice, and if I had any questions, they would answer them. The people must have been in their apartments, and I didn't see too many of them, but there were some people walking around. It was pretty quiet. They have a nice outside patio, and in the summer, they have raised bed gardens if you want to garden and that kind of thing. If they have activities that you can get on, you can go. They'll take you downtown to Walmart or someplace, if you want to go shopping. It was very beautiful, well- kept, and clean. The apartments were nice, bright, and modern, and they didn't have crummy stuff in them.

I visited New Perspective Senior Living | Twin Ports. It was a nice facility. It's broken down into independent, assisted, and a memory care unit. They have a dining room and a workout facility. Everything was very nice. It was clean, and there's a lot of amenities. They have a swimming pool, a beauty shop, and a restaurant. The staff was very knowledgeable, understanding, and non-pressured.

New Perspective Twin Ports was a beautiful place. Everything we saw were very, very nice, including the rooms and their services. We've been there in the summer when they had picnics and different things that they offer to the community. I was very impressed. The place was absolutely gorgeous. They were doing an outside barbecue and picnic, and that's what we participated in. They had an ice cream social, and they had burgers and different things on the grill. I've seen the assisted living and the memory care. I've only met the director. I haven't met any staff there at all.

The food 75% of the time is not edible. The nursing staff are unreliable, they do not visit the residents to see how they are doing. I do not believe they have any training to care for the elderly. Residents get hurt, sick, etc and end up in the hospital. There is no supervision for passing meds, general care. The residents are not offered help with their general care, showers, bed making, etc. The residents laundry is often lost, their laundry should be washed separately. There is not enough caregivers to care for all the residents. Some residents go in other resident rooms. Activities, not enough. They tell the residents one thing and then forget what they said. The CNA’s for the most part are good. The nurses, awful. Who is the leadership? Don’t know, no leadership.

My sister is now living at New Perspective Twin Ports. She liked it, and it's close to where I live. It's a real nice place. She's happy with the food. They have music programs, swimming pool, and exercise programs. It's a beautiful building.

I was told that my mother would be treated like family. When The Alzheimer’s was about making it difficult to transfer her the administration kicked her out. My mother died a week later in a facility she did not consider home. Staff was wonderful, the administration was heartless.

New Perspective is a beautiful building. It has a good layout that's very well thought out. They have physical and occupational therapy located inside; it's not part of the community, but if somebody needs it, they can get that help, and they take care of it through your insurance. It's nice that they're located right inside the assisted living. The staff is very friendly. My father-in-law was suspicious when he first moved in with how friendly everybody was, and he's still that way. He's on his second month there now. They're very helpful and very friendly. They have church services, exercise programs, a pool with scheduled times when you can go and work out or do laps, and a men's group on Tuesday mornings. They have coffee and donuts, get-togethers, a pub, and celebrations like a Mardi Gras party where they have different kinds of food and senior groups. They have lots of different activities and do movie nights and in the afternoons with popcorn.
