GlenWood Park was very nice and bright. They had puzzles and a cage with birds in it for people to watch. The rooms were nice.

My parents have been in for a few days Glenwood Park, and they're pretty happy. It's in the town where I grew up. There's a real sense of community there where people are respected and staff try to help them to have positive days. They have a nursing home, independent living, and assisted living, and the rooms are of different sizes. The food is fine.

While visiting there, I found it to be very nice, modern, and most of all clean. While visiting my friend, she expressed her pleasure of knowing there were people around if she needed help, and liked being able to socialize with people her age. The activities that are available are good, and they have most types of services that anyone would need.

I would like to submit a review on my experiences at Glenwood Park Retirement Home in Princeton, West Virginia. I had an uncle that was extremely mentally retarded from birth. His name was Andy. Andy was at the extreme end of being handicap. He could not walk, talk or express his feelings very well. He was wide awake but I would venture to say he hardly new he was in this world. Andy was cared for by my grandmother until he was well into his twenties. After a while she physically just couldn't care for Andy on her own anymore. She struggled severly with the decision, but had no choice to place him in the care of an assisted living facility/nursing home. After careful review she placed him at Glenwood Park Retirement Village. For over forty years my uncle resided there. The family would visit Andy sporadic times of the day. They never knew when we were coming. We were always pleasantly surprised to see Andy always comfortable and his every need being attended to. The nurses were constantly going above the call of duty, and many came to develop their own personal relationship with Andy. The staff was always concerned about his well being and they would make suggestions of how they could make life easier on him. The facility was always very clean and there was lots of love constantly flowing through the halls of this facility.
