I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother-in-law is in Spring Creek Healthcare Center, and they are very capable. They are providing her with physical therapy, and occupational therapy. The physical therapy is working on her balance, and the occupational therapy is working on her fall recovery. Those things are moving along, and she is doing great. The caregivers and their staff are great. They have a resident advocate her name is Josieann and she's great and very communicative. She informs us of the progress that my mother-in-law is making. It's a nice facility, they have got a communal dining area and a sunroom for the rehab facility, and I like it. I got to taste the food they offer, and it is good.

I am/was a resident of this facility

There were nurses there that were excellent, caring professionals and there were people who pretended to do there job but didn't do it. There were nights when I would lay there and here people begging for help and I could hear the nurses laughing and joking but no one went to help. It didn't happen always, but it did happen. When I asked about it, I was told we were suppose to be asleep and we shouldn't bother them. But that was on the nights When the excellent nurses were not working. The food tasted good, but it was not right for me because I had diabetes. They really did try though. The most difficult part of living there was the bed. It sunk down in the middle so badly that my shoulders got scrunched together. My heart developed a fibrillation problem while staying there which has not gone away. The rehab team was made up of excellent helpers and those who didn't really care. And the best ones were not the main therapy people who were in charge. Basically the place needed more observation from management. And then it could have been made to be an excellent place. But they really did need to work on getting good quality beds and making sure they had people who really tried to do a really good job. They also needed to make it possible for people to have training with getting in and out of bed and other basic things. That was my experience from actually being there. Oct Nov 2018.

I visited this facility

I visited Spring Creek. They had a very nice staff. They took me around and showed me the rooms. They had a small dining hall and a little bit smaller rooms, and they share the bathroom. I didn't taste the food, but they do offer choices to the residents. They have a room where you could go and visit as a family, and the couches were really dirty. They could do a little bit of cleaning up. It's probably because it's an older place.

I am a friend or relative of resident

I would not put a family member in this facility if it were free! My mom was in here 6 days before a doctor seen her, and then did not have any health records on my mom showing a history of her health problems. It took 5 days for a dietician to get my mom the proper food for her diet. She came into this place with a gastro tube and was supposed to have pureed food only. The first night they brought lasagne, second night it was a cheeseburger! I might mention my mom was sent here from IMC in murray following an emergency triple bypass surgery. She was in an ICU for 3 of the 4 weeks that she spent in that hospital. This is a bad place!
