The people at West Oaks Independent Living Community were very nice. They showed us one of the rooms, but the problem was they didn't have transportation, and my mom doesn't drive. The facility was very nice. It's got a nice community room where they come together like either potluck or something like that and they can sit in there and play games or watch a movie together. We didn't see a lot of rooms, but what we saw was very nice. They keep the ground mowed and clean and they have a good place for someone to walk their dogs if they have a pet like my mom. It's not big. The community center is separated from the apartments. The facility looks great from the outside, and the one apartment we saw was very nice. I just met the gentleman, the husband, and we didn't see anybody else. He was very informative. He sat down politely and talked with us and shared with us about the place.

My wife and I are in West Oaks Independent Living Community. It's excellent. It's not as fancy as others, but it's nowhere near as expensive as others. The food is good. I live with my wife, so I share meals with her. Right now, they have a sit exercise kind of thing and every couple of weeks, movie days and stuff. It doesn't have as many amenities as most of them that we've looked at, but again, it's nowhere near as expensive as most of them we looked at. We're on the ground floor, and we have an 1100-square-foot, two-bedroom apartment, that's nice. It's a nice place to live. We're independent. We spend more of our time in our quarters, and it's good that way.
