What I like best about Scott Street Lofts is that it's considered downtown Houston, and it's convenient to a lot of activities, to the university, and the sports teams, so it's very convenient to be able to go see those teams and stuff like that. Also, I have access to everything I need, as far as courthouse, city hall, and everything is right here in downtown Houston. However, the staff is not very accommodating when it comes to the residents and the cleanliness of the property. We have a pool that they don't take very good care of. They don't have staff to clean the elevators and staircases. They're very dusty, and they have trash in the common areas. It's not really bad to the point where we're getting rats, mice, or any bugs or anything, but they have a small roach problem because of the cleanliness of the building. This is independent living, so I purchased my own food. The location is very convenient. There's a supermarket about three blocks from the building. We're right down the street from the University of Houston, and so they have a lot of fast food places that are within walking distance and easily accessible. This facility is brand new. When I moved in three years ago, there were only two residents on my floor, and we're on the fifth floor. Now the whole building is full. I'm the first person to live in my apartment, and it's a beautiful apartment. I have a lot of amenities. I have a microwave, a stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and a dryer in my unit. They have a laundry room, but that's kind of dumb, because all these apartments have washers and dryers inside their unit. You have access to a computer room, an activity room, a community kitchen, a gym, and a barbershop/beauty salon.
