My brother moved into New Hope Housing - Ennis. He's happy. They have 12 communities throughout Houston. It's brand new, and it offers a lot of social interaction and amenities for on-site group affairs or whatever. It had a little movie theater, a community dining room area, and a really nice courtyard with a barbecue pit. Location is near downtown. He can step out and call Metro Lift and transport him to the Veterans Administration Hospital, and call in advance a Houston Metro shared ride, those sorts of amenities. It was just absolutely fantastic. To me, they're a five-star. I like the professionalism and the courteousness of the staff, the fact that it's near downtown, it has a public washroom facility, each unit has its own washer and dryer hookup, and just the skyline view of downtown. They have a social worker that meets or conducts an invitation for residents to come down and hear about upcoming events and the residents being able to attend certain attractions or bruncheons that more so suits them as senior citizens around town and also sponsoring periodic social breakfasts in their dining area, being able to book the courtyard for residents family matters on special occasions, birthdays or whatever. The staff is completely courteous, professional, kind, considerate, and forthcoming insofar as revealing leasing policy, regulations, rules, or whatever. They were exceptional. The units are supplied with a refrigerator, stove, and microwave. It's independent living. They don't serve meals. It's brand spanking new. It's beautiful. Value for money is exceptional. If I were a person who needed to downsize home-wise and come into a particular sort of community to have a skyline view of downtown Houston and also the Gulf Freeway, 45 North, it's a five all the way across the board.
