Balch Springs Nursing Home

My husband is staying in Balch Springs Nursing Home for long-term care. I chose them because it's close to home, and I liked it when I visited. He's in a shared room. It's kept clean, and the bedsheets and everything are changed regularly, multiple times a day. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and informative. They're helping him with physical therapy, speech therapy, and other medical needs. He's got other issues going on that they're helping him with.

My husband is in Balch Springs Nursing Home, it's close to where I live. I'm not very pleased with the place. I'm paying 5,100 a month and, like, I don't know how if they take care of them, maybe they do, but I don't see anything. I have a bad opinion about that. I think it's the price is too much for taking care of a person that is sick. The nurse that I talked to last week was busy, she was very pleased to answer the question that you make, but I don't see too much help for the people. Maybe you have to be in some better places than that.

There is a board of activities on display. My friend is a patient there, she said they do not do activities. Where is the money going if not for activities. She can’t go outside, unless it’s the smokers area. Is there not a nonsmoking area? She said the Homes van has been broken so no Walmart Trips. I went to use the public restroom and it smelled horrific, toilet not flushed. Is This is a low rundown facility.

The place is filthy.Staff unprofessional &rude many times to residents &seem to have little or no training.I have seen residents laying in urine soaked diapers for my entire visit &seen staff ignore or get snippy with them for asking for meds or to be changed.No COVID protection.Sanitation is minimum if at all.& Hopefully a fire or emergency never breaks out.Many times understaffed and bathing is irregular at most.I got my uncle outta there!

TLT

I was in this facility for a few days and had a great time with the staff. When I did my daily walk around in my big blue walker, someone was always with me encouraging me. The room was set at a very comfortable temperature very clean. My stay was very pleasant.

Lemme

This is a horrible, horrible place. Mom would fall out of bed and they would leave her screaming for help. I ended up sleeping in her wheelchair in her room to keep he safe. I took her home before they could do any more damage. I warn everyone that this is a place to send your love ones to die.
