Welcome to The Elms Of Chaleston! The Elms is located in Charleston County in close proximity to coastal beaches, championship golf courses and the culture of downtown Charleston. The immediate area offers many opportunities for dining, shopping and entertainment.The Elms of Charleston is a 55+ Active Adult Community located on what was once the site of The Elms Plantation owned and operated by the Izard family. Ralph Izard, the 4th President Pro Tem of the United States Senate, was born here on the plantation in 1741. The aesthetics of The Elms of today has evolved from that Izard heritage into a residential community comprised of one-story dwellings adorned with columns and porches in a style reflective of the dwellings of historic Charleston. Homes sit on a landscape of natural contours with lush vegetation and stately trees. Entering our community one can easily sense it's history and immediately notice it's beauty.
