Providence Down Manor

Providence Down Manor was very nice. They provided two out of three meals. There were separate, little apartments in a two- or three-story building with the dining room on the bottom floor. Everything was very nice and within our budget. The director assisted us and took us around. We went to a couple of apartments that were very nice. The residents were playing card games while we were there. There was transportation that would take the residents to different places. The building was within walking distance to the main town, which was nice.

My visit at Providence Down Manor was very good. The staff was very friendly. The people were nice. This community is right next door to a community college, so you could walk over to classes or to various things. It is a two-level building with a lot of woods, so I like that part of it too. The other thing I like about it, which is a strong thing, is that they have an Alzheimer's building next door. My husband's sister was living there in Providence Down Manor, and her husband was in the Alzheimer's building, and she could go there every noon and have lunch with him. That was a big factor in case one of us develops Alzheimer's. The meals were nice. We had a dinner party there, and so we saw the room where you could have a party. It wasn't as nice; it was just a room with folding tables. In regards to their rooms, though, one thing that held us back was that they did not have walk-in showers. I was a little disappointed with that.
