Heisley Park Senior Apartments

I will be moving into Heisley Park Senior Apartments. There are 119 units in this community. It looks like it takes up half of the city there because there are so many of them, but it's beautiful. I've never seen anything like it. It's really picturesque. They play bingo three nights a week, and they do puzzles. They have a library and a beauty shop. There is a girl that does hair and a girl that comes in twice a week to do nails. It's something else how they have it set up. I like that they do so many things together. My husband passed away two months ago, so it's really hard on me. I don't like to be in a house by myself, and I would rather be with a community and do things with other people. That's what I want, and they do that. They have all kinds of activities. They go to different places also. They take the big bus and go to different places. I really like that they have a community room. It's got a kitchen, a fireplace, and tables set up, and you can go in there. Every night they have something different that you can do. It's just wonderful. They make food all the time. You can have whatever they make, or you can make something for yourself in your apartment. The dining area is a huge room with a fireplace. There is a kitchen in it. They have a ground floor, and then they have four floors. The staff also told us that if my daughter and I wanted to have a party with other people, we wouldn't have to rent the dining area. It's just there, and you can use it anytime you want to. Like for Christmas, you just give them a certain date, and then they will hold it for you. However, you've got to get in early to do that with 119 units there. The staff member who gave the tour was wonderful. She is the one who is in charge of all that stuff. She is knowledgeable about everything, plus she is so friendly. She said any time I need something to let her know. They also have a person there that takes care of the buildings and stuff inside. Like if your light bulb goes out, we are not to change it. We just call them and they will come up and change the light bulb. Everything is beautiful inside. All the apartments are furnished with a stove, a refrigerator, and a microwave. Everything you could possibly think of that you would need in an apartment, it's already there. There is also a washer and dryer. You really don't have to bring too much with you except your couch, chair, and bed.
