"My wife has moved into Bay View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. It's an old building. It's been there for a long time. Some things don't work like the elevator doesn't work. You won't find any of the amenities that you would find in a better care facility, but this is the only one I could get her into because she has dementia, and she needs memory care, and it's only about 15 minutes away by car. I don't know the staff that well, but I think the place changed hands, and I hope it's for the better. I'll just have to wait to see. They got their hands pretty full up where she is. The staff are friendly. A couple of times when I tried to talk to my wife, nobody answered the phone up there on the third floor. During the day, a person answers the phone. They got a receptionist there. However, I don't know if they were just that busy taking care of other people and they couldn't stay around the phone that long. I would leave a message, but they would never call back, and that one thing made me mad. The food was edible, but it could have been better."

"Our experience with Orchard Hills was great. The employees are great, they're good and they've been really good to my mother-in-law. We can't go inside, but we did glass visits and they've been really accommodating. Whenever we call with a question, they always answer it. We had a care conference yesterday via the phone, and they were really good at answering all the questions. Sometimes we call to inquire how she's doing and stuff, it takes them a little while to get back to us with the update, but that's understandable. She really likes their food. The only thing I wish is that I wish they would push her more to do activities. Maybe that'll happen once she gets into long-term care, but that's her personality and not the staff. The place itself seems very clean from what we could see. They're all expensive, but I think this one is pretty comparable to other places in the area. She self-pays so it's expensive."
