I am staying at North Chase Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. The nurses are very personable and caring. They serve three meals a day, but you have no choice. You have no option. They just serve you what they want to, and that's not good. The food that I eat is good. I had gastric bypass surgery years ago, and I'm supposed to eat three small meals a day in between my other meals. I haven't yet been able to get the kitchen to understand that. They have been sending me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on my lunch and dinner tray every day for the 13 days I've been here so far. I'm sick of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and I keep asking them to talk to me, and everybody says I can't do anything about the kitchen. You'll have to talk to the administrator. I've asked a dozen times to talk to the administrator, and I don't get any response. I've only had one bath since I've been here. The aide will not come and give me a bath. She will not change my bed. She doesn't even like to enter the bedside commode. I'm not able to walk. I cannot walk on my feet. I had surgery on my foot. So, I need more help than what I'm getting. That's the problem. It's supposed to be skilled nursing, but I'm supposed to be a step down from the hospital and get the care I need to heal. If you can't put your feet on the floor, you need help, and you push the bell, and they're not coming into my room, and the least amount of time is 30 minutes. The nurses are great, but the aide is useless. I've seen roaches crawling on my floor. The walls need painting, it's dingy and depressing. I just stay in my room, and I read and watch movies on my computer. The activities director is very nice and tries to get me to come out and do things, but we also have active COVID here.
