My mom has lived at Island View for many years. It is a nurturing, caring, very personable home. The staff literally treated my mom like family, and would include her in their festivities whether it was Christmas, Easter or someone’s birthday. There are such sweet animals, both cats and dogs that always helped cheer mom up. She also absolutely loved being around the grandchildren that would visit, the joy it brought her helped pull her out of her depression she was in before living there. It is also such a unique place as the owners actually live there and got to know my mom so well and could anticipate her needs and were always so accommodating to her. She started doing things she hadn’t done in years, like crocheting, making cards, painting, and walking around the beautiful property on the creek. She also formed wonderful friendships with the other residents. They helped her with all of her needs, as well as encouraging her independence as much as possible. It was such a gift to find this hidden gem in the Hudson Valley.

My father is in Island View. The facility, the room, and the food are satisfactory. There aren't any activities.
