We are very pleased with the care that our loved one has been receiving at Northern Metropolitan. The therapists are conscientious professionals who strive to help each patient achieve his or her full potential and the administrative staff has been instrumental in keeping our family updated throughout our loved one's stay. We have also received guidance and support to ensure continued financial coverage for our loved one, which was very helpful, as having someone in a healthcare facility is an unfamiliar situation for us.

It really deserves a NEGATIVE RATING! This place was an absolute nightmare for my loved one, who suffered from dementia and deserved compassion, dignity, and competent care. Instead, what she received at Northern Metropolitan was neglect, filth, and a level of indifference that still makes me sick to think about. The facility was consistently dirty — foul odors, unclean floors, soiled linens, and residents left sitting in conditions no human being should endure. Basic hygiene was clearly not a priority. Staff seemed either overwhelmed, poorly trained, or completely disengaged. For a vulnerable dementia patient, routine and supervision are critical. Instead, there was chaos and carelessness. Communication with family was poor to nonexistent. Concerns were brushed off. Issues were minimized. Accountability was nowhere to be found. This was not just disappointing — it was traumatic. Watching someone you love deteriorate is painful enough. Watching it happen in a place that is supposed to provide professional care, while witnessing obvious neglect, is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I would strongly caution any family considering this facility. Do not be misled by their website! What happens behind closed doors tells a very different story. Our loved ones deserve safety, cleanliness, dignity, and compassion. We did not find any of that here.

the facility is clean, but the food and care was terrible. The aides are ruff and rude. complained to the manager several times, and nothing was done about the rude and ruff treatment I was receiving from the aides. Nothing was done. the only people nice at thus facility is the rec and therapy department. I needed to stay longer for more therapy, but went home early due to the terrible treatment there.

PLEASE don't send your loved ones here. Longterm care are is grossly understaffed, filthy dirty, poor overall care.....The intake "nurse" lied on the PRI paperwork just to get our mother in quickly - she should lose her license.

Great rehab! Rooms are freshly painted and renovated. Interactions with staff were very positive. My mom was there post ICU hospitalization and they got her up and walking within one week. Discharge was three weeks after admittance. Recreation comes around with activities and projects. Visits were allowed around the clock and my mom felt very well taken care of.

This place is horrible. Do NOT let these people convince you that your loved one will be taken care of. He/She will not. All of my husband's belongings were stolen ... everything except the clothes on his back. Everyone refused my calls, refused to meet with me Nobody communicates any information on condition, etc. The last I heard from them was to tell me that they found my husband on the floor and he was being transported to the ER. He died two days later. Stay away from this place.

Northern Metropolitan has a four-star rating; maybe it does deserve a four-star rating because their rehab director worked at the best rehab for many years, and their staff is trained, including their personal care assistants, in PT procedures. Most of these facilities do rehab in isolation from families and the rest of the staff, but at Northern Metropolitan, it sounds like it is integrated into the entire place. They're told what the patient can do, so for every skill, they break it down. Like, my dad can unbutton his shirt or sweater; he can’t always button but he can unbutton, so everybody gets to know exactly what the patient can do and also areas in which the aide can help. It is a better way of training people. It is not yet 100% renovated, but they are in the process, and it has a friendly energy. It is kind of friendly with really good activity therapy and a lot of staff. I was so in awe of the number of staff they have; I should send my dad there. Everything is good, except the fact that they are still renovating.
