My wife was in the assisted living care at Fernley Estates. I just moved her down to another facility in Reno because it was getting kind of hard for me to drive up there, but I couldn't recommend a higher recommendation on them. It was wonderful. She loved it, I loved it. If it wasn't for the fact of getting aides and difficulty on that road, I wouldn't have changed her. It was friendly, they were good, and they were interested in the people. She was there for about six months. It was a nice atmosphere and it was a well-run facility. My wife was very happy there, and I was too, but it would get to the point where I couldn't make it up there all the time. My wife's room was a nice size. It had an individual bathroom, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a good sink. It was a nice room. There was a lot of activities. There's bingo, various exercises, walking classes, and various things that they did. They're very nice people. They take care of the people. They're not harsh or anything, and they're really concerned. The help that they hire were topnotch. They also have bus trips and they took you to appointments if you needed or to shopping. They were first class all the way around. They had an excellent maintenance man. The place was kept very clean, and they were taking care of the people. It's a good value for the money. One other thing that they have is they also brought performers in for music.

I have chosen Fernley Estates for my mom. I actually loved it. It was clean and very well attended. There were no obstacles in the hallways. There was plenty of room for people with walkers or wheelchairs. The staff was on top of their job, and there were a lot of them. The director was actually the one that took me on the tour and he knew everyone by name. He kept apologizing to me because he had to stop and talk to the residents. If my mom's going to be here, I would love that he took the time out to talk to her. He stopped and addressed everyone that wanted to talk to him, and I thought it was fantastic. They had beautiful gardens. When I was there, they had children that came in from Sparks and did a little entertainment for them. They had a shuffleboard, a pool table, and a movie room. They had a beautiful dining room with attendants that helped with everything.

The staff at Fernley Estates was very friendly and very caring. I really liked the layout of the facility. It's like a welcoming environment. I visited the memory care unit, and they were the most welcoming. They were awesome. The person who toured us was very personable and very professional. She just showed a lot of interest in getting to know my grandmother. It was very, very well kept too.

Most things are fine except food is awful. Meat is tough, often un-chewable. Most are served cold. Menu is not varied enough. These things have been brought to the administrator buy myself. HELP!!!

My mother is in the assisted living level of Fernley Estates. It goes from assisted living to memory care. It's a very nice place, it's brand new and clean, and the way it's designed makes it easy for the residents to get around. It took a while for them to get on the same page with how much care my mother needed, but after a few weeks they finally got it all worked out, and everybody's doing well. The atmosphere is very upbeat, they play games and get the seniors involved with exercises, or they take them on a bus into town. Where my mom in is a 1-bedroom that has a bedroom, a little kitchenette, a living room, and a bathroom. They also have 2-bedrooms and studios where everything is all in one room. She loves the food, they are balanced senior meals with low salt and low sugar, but the food seems to have good flavor and good choices despite that. The location is good, and it's 30 minutes away from town.

Fernley Estates is a brand new place that just opened in July. We visited the facility and I was very impressed with it so we had our uncle there. Our experience with them the first time was awesome. The staff were wonderful. We haven’t found anyone there that we have any problem. They have all been great. The rooms were nice and big and roomy. In the memory care where my uncle lives, they play bingo and they also play cards, but I know that they have more activities in their assisted living facility. They have a calendar of activities. I can also tell that their prices are very, very reasonable.
