"My Grandma visited here just about six months ago. Incredible facility.....loved it, but real pricey....we thought anyway (at least to us). Upon visiting, we were greeted by five people. Nursing staff really explained healthcare to us. High end healthcare! We met with each division. Activities seemed to abound here....something almost everyday. Extremely clean facility impressed us, also. "

"My mom is at St. Joseph's Rehabilitation and Care Center. We have not been to the place because of COVID. We placed her blindly there because back in April, when she had a stroke, that was the only place that would take patients who did not know their COVID status. We've been pleased with her care, but of course, it has been shut down to visitations ever since she was placed there. As far as I can tell through a window visit or the written reports we get, she is fine. I, as an RN, would like to see mom's skin, and I would like to be able to hands-on assess her, but I cannot do that. But they are doing a good job. They are following CDC guidelines like they are supposed to, and the staff are in full PPE. They had a couple of outbreaks amongst the staff which got to the patients and residents, but they did not have any COVID in the building for probably until September, so I think they did a hell of a job. They answer my questions and they call us if there is an issue."

"My Great Aunt resides here. Her and her husband, and my Grandma have all lived here. My grandma and Great Uncle passed away here. Facility is like a home and family!!!! Parties, NYE party, good food, games, great staff..... My Great Aunt currently lives here. She resisted it at first....but now thoroughly loves it. Sometimes when I come to vist, it is hard to pull her away from her activities! This is Awesome!! Excursions for the residents all the time!! "

"The Meadows was great and a larger facility. You could go from independent to assisted and stay in the same facility. The staff was very helpful, gave us lots of information, answered questions, and stayed in contact. It met all of our expectations and everything."

"My mother moved in to Golden Living Center. We chose it because my mother's family is there. From what I noticed, the staff seems OK. The rooms need to be a little updated, but they are fine, and she seems to like it. The dining room needs to be changed because when I visit her it is still dirty at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, so that should be cleaned up. "

"My father is at The Heritage at Fountain Point. All the workers are very friendly, and they do anything for my dad's needs. They're there right away. It's a beautiful facility. It doesn't feel like a senior center. I like the beauty of it and the convenience. The food is very good, and I like that there's an option. A lot of times my dad doesn't like what the special of the day is, so he can order off the menu from about six or seven different options. They're very friendly and very courteous. They get the citizens out in their caravan bus to different places, like there might be a movie they take them to once a month. They'd take them to casinos and stuff like that. One time, they just went for a drive around town just to get them out. They have root beer floats certain times, and they have an exercise program for the senior citizens. He has an apartment, and he has some care. Everything's new and nice."

"My mom moved into Homestead of Norfolk. We like the smaller size, the family atmosphere, and that there are lots of great activities. We like the food and the excellent care. They communicate with families and staff on any issues or concerns. They keep you updated. The food is excellent. It's homemade food and served to their table. They have a lot of choices and a great variety. The facility has a homey atmosphere, and it's very clean. They have a wide variety of activities for all different interests. They have morning coffee, exercise, bingo, movies, and a nice courtyard for people to sit outside. It is a great daily environment that people can choose to participate in activities or not. It was a very smooth transition, and everything just went well. So far, we're just very pleased."

"We moved Mom to Elms Health Care Center, and we're very happy with the decision. She's in a room by herself and we really like the size of the room. It's very manageable with her own bathroom attached to the room. The staff has just been wonderful. They've actually had an ownership and management change in the past year, and everyone there is putting their best foot forward. There are lots of very caring and conscientious people. The facility is in the community that my mom has lived in for 60 years. It's a town of 1,000 people and so it's a chance for her friends, who are also elderly, to come and visit her. Then we can take her to the hairdresser she's familiar with, we can get her to church or they come to her, and there's a chance that she knows some of the people there. The general area is just a little dated looking, but that's just cosmetic."
