About House At Westminster in Saint Louis, Missouri

Located about equal distances from the Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis and the Moolah Theatre and Lounge, House at Westminster is minutes away from historic Midtown St. Louis. Right on the bus lines that run from downtown to the zoo in Delmar, House at Westminster is a handsome three-story estate with gabled rooftops that occupies a quiet corner of a mostly residential neighborhood. The seniors aged 62 and over who call House at Westminster home live in a tightly knit 92-unit senior living community. Here, senior residents have as much privacy and independence as possible, with daily check-ins for safety and the option of cafeteria dining when they feel like having company. A full-service dining room is also available for residents and their guests. House staff direct planned community events, such as movies and a monthly visit by the S.P.C.A. and their friendliest animals. House at Windsor offers multiple amenities for independent seniors, including fully equipped kitchens and walk-in showers located in each unit, as well as private lock boxes for residents and a laundry room on every floor. Every unit at Westminster has a garbage disposal, an individually controllable air conditioner and a 24-hour emergency call system connected to the response team that's always on duty.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I'm in House At Westminster. The apartment is bigger than I thought. It's spacious. The residents are very friendly. The place is very clean and smells nice, especially inside the apartment. My apartment is brand new. All the plasters are new. They have grab bars and railings and things like that. I'm on the first floor. It has three floors, but they have two elevators, so that helps a lot. They have a kitchen where you can order your meals in the morning. They have meal plans, too. You can sign up for them or not, but they have kitchens in the apartments themselves. There's a community place where you can hold a private event if you want to for a fee. The grass is well-kept. Even though they only have one maintenance man, he does an excellent job. If he leaves, I don't know what's going to happen. He keeps the place clean. They have pest control that comes in four times a year or every three months to make sure they keep down the pest. In terms of security, you have to buzz in. They give you a common code before they sign you in and then an individual code for the door, so that people can come and go any time, day or night. The management is very difficult to get a hold of. Before I moved in, I left several messages to return my call wanting an update on my application and move-in and just to get paperwork, and there was very little effort to return my calls until like the final day that the paperwork was due. I think the management is money-oriented rather than resident-oriented, and I don't like that. Also, they don't have activities.
